What kind of genre should I be looking at if I want some more or less similar stuff? "post-progressive-math-something-core" sounds cool for sure, but doesn't help at all.

They make me cringe most of the time

If you wanted to boil it down to basics I guess they'd fit into math-rock/post-hardcore.

The only thing ive found that comes close is ORBS.

It's hard to just say "go look up more of (genre whatever)" for bands like this. I can kind of see Orbs just for the weirdness factor. There's certain bands that you can maybe draw some similarities too; bands like Shellac, Q and not U, So Many Dynamos, and maybe Shiner come to mind during certain songs on this album especially, but they're pretty unique in their own right.

I actually quite like Orbs, except for the vocals! And thanks for all the other recs too, I kinda guessed I should check some post-hardcore bands, but I had no idea what's considered good there.

this is really cool so far. the instrumentation is pretty badass, definitely reminds me of a heavier Q and Not U. I'm not that crazy about the vocals, but i think they'll grow on me. great review!

well i can agree about that on occasion but your rating is retardedly hyperbolic

I wouldn't say it is because I legitimately didn't enjoy this

Bumped rating a little because it isn't really a 2 but still can't get into it at all. Didn't really dig their debut much either

The lyrics are undeniably terrible. I try not to think about them too much.

I wouldn't say "undeniably", they fit the subject matter and themes and junk.

But what if the subject matter and themes suck?
