bet someone's mashed I'm god and same-key NLC before

"gone" strong contender for best pop song of the decade
|
| |
weakest track in the first three so bet
|

NLC really is one of my fav pop songzzzz
You know exactly what she’s going for and she just beasts it
|
| |
other two songs are great too
blame it on your love makes me want to drop my rating. so pointless
|
| |
nah was an upgrade on Track 10 and worth capitalising on as a core idea. bit commercial for sure, but getting rid of all the faff on the og was ultimately a good move
|
| |
idk releasing a watered down version of a powerful closer 2 years later is just a pretty weak move
the lizzo feature makes it 10x worse than it should be though
i like when she does stuff like that within the context of an album (like 360/365) but that one was not necessary

fwiw i'd probs have been pretty peeved if i'd heard Pop 2 before this
but i didn't and started here so uh it was definitely worth it to open her to a new audience?
|
| |
yea lol i was gonna ask if u had heard pop 2 first
im almost certainly overrating this but the highs are so good. contains many of her best individual songs, but pretty damn inconsistent. basically the opposite of brat, which doesnt have any all-time faves of mine but is easily her best listen front-to-back

didn’t love Pop 2, I think this and HIFN are her best by far
|
| |
yeah lol this is one of those albums where i love parts of it, like the idea of all of it, distantly remember hating some of it (there's a song with HAIM, right?), and have butchered it so thoroughly for standouts that i'll probs never jam again in full without regretting anything
|
| |
Somehow I haven’t heard this
|
| |
"how im feeling now" feels like the one i should like the most but it's always disappointing. "claws" is fun af though

I just re listened to this today, has so many excellent songs, but is not as cohesive as HIFM, Brat, or Pop 2
I used to love Gone, but it has grown off me in time
NLC, Silver Cross, and Official are fantastic

Loving what I'm hearing of this so far, this feels like the true precursor to Brat. Weird working backwards through her discography though, Crash feels like a step down (or Brat feels like a step up in this case?), as for HIFN I feel like I should really love it but it's just pretty good, might be missing something though, need more spins. This album is awesome so far, I feel like I'm either gonna love her work or bounce off of it. Curious about her earlier stuff though!

If this album ended with Official, I'd be equally as happy. Last few songs are cool but they feel unnecessary.
