tbh, the only song that stands good on its own on here is the single "Flag In The Ground". Might lower this to a 2.5 soon.

I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO FLAG IN THE GROUND. Damn, the rest of the record ranges from average to ok but that singel is just sooooo awesome.

so yeah, this is pretty boring though I enjoyed the song No Dream Can Heal a Broken Heart but that's probably because it had female vocals in it.

I actually think this album's amazing. The best thing they've ever released, IMO.

I actually really like the lack of guitar solos (and I'm a guitarist), because I think the music on this album isn't really suited for it.

Flag in the Ground bores the hell out of me after 60 listens. The rest of the album does not though.

Ok as a CD this is ok to good, but for a Sonata Arctica CD, this suuucks. To listen to it I have to kinda forget about the 4 good CDs they put out before this, kinda like how it is with CoB's Blooddrunk

I really enjoy this album.

Yes, it's eerily melodramatic compared to some of their other stuff, and flag in the ground seems a bit oddball in the whole spectrum of the cd, but I totally enjoy anything they do.

it flows very well as a whole, and the long-ish songs go by very easily. it really feels like this is a soundtrack to some musical they've made.

especially if you grab the Symphonic versions of this album, which further solidify my last statement.

but it is an aquired taste. so all the negative ratings are understandable.

I love Sonata. Just so you guys get it into your head. I really didn't like writing this review at all

I've always been a bit indifferent toward power metal, but this is complete anal seepage.

I'm with Metalstyles, this sounds so painfully gay....

Yeah Flag in the Ground is excellent, made me think this would be better than Unia.

...wrong. It's not that bad it's just really uninspired imo. And what the hell happened to Sonata Arctica being fun to listen to?

Yeah, and that's really something since the album really isn't power metal except for one track.

The more I listen to this, the more I like it. I may up it to a 3, but no higher. Juliet has grown on me in particular.

I'm moving this back to a 3, been listening to it every day and the style has grown on me. I really like the choruses in most of the songs for some reason now. I'm still very irked at the lack of ambition from Elias though... still far below what I was expecting from this band.
