I'm glad you enjoyed the read Atari!
But yeah, way too many atmo bm bands sounding exactly the same (dull and forumlaic) out there.
Last album hit me like this was Nhor's "Within the Darkness Between the Starlight" back in 2013, and Walknut's "Graveforests and their Shadows" before that in '09 (when I first heard it). And this is better than both, which is nuts cause both those albums are amazing.

I love that walknut album. Definitely one of my favorite atmo black albums. He's teased a couple times at doing another album but nothing ever comes of it 😔

Haven’t listened. Mention atmospheric black metal and a huge flag raises for me, turns on my radar because Fen is my favorite band on the planet right now and nothing comes close to them. Is this in the same vein? Excellent review and thanks.

no, it's more meditative and distant than Fen. but I also really enjoyed Winter (see my review, by Alex Newton) so give this a few spins and you might get enraptured too.
