Reading it back it does seem like a bit of a loose statement, I think I got the basic idea of it from the T/T and opener, as they are essentially punk rock bangers, but then I guess their attitude and aesthetic fleshes out the concept a bit more, I just didn't really know how to explain it.

I don't know why you'd assume pretense is involved...
Sometimes I think the hype is maybe a little overcooked because the last few records have been a bit hit and miss, but if you gave Money Store a 3, I don't get how this can be so dreadful for you that it has to be a 1...
Edit: For me a 1 has to have next to no redeeming features, and your own review of MS praised the same abrasive qualities that this has, it just seems a little excessive that this would be so stale for you that it goes straight to the lowest possible rating.
