Lord, this album is great, a definite contender for one of my favorite albums of this year. Come to think of it, a lot of my favorite punk seems to spawn from Fat Wreck Chords.

By this year you mean like you first heard this year, not release date right?

Still one of my favorite albums. Listen to it almost everyday. March of the Crabs is the best at the moment.
By this year you mean like you first heard this year, not release date right?
Obviously, heh...

The title track, Bullshit Politicians, and Back To The Motor League really do it for me, though.

This is really really good so far. I wasn't expecting what I got, though. I don't know what I was expecting, though because I'd never heard anything by them before. I find it hard to stop listening. This came along at a perfect time too. I've lately been pissed off. This Message Edited On 03.27.07

Are these guys any good? I like Rancid and Offspring and I'm not sure what propaghandi sounds like.

...Yes, they are good. But don't really sound like rancid or the offspring, this album especially. Still, check em out. Oh. and there is like 6 songs on the site to listen to.

Obviously, heh..

Yeah, just checking ;)This Message Edited On 04.17.07

I'm confused on how to rate this. When I first started I said; Woah, down to a 3.5. But now listening to Purina I know I'm going to my room to listen to it again. I'll probably raise it again.

I like to party fucking hard. I like my rock and roll the same.

Don't give a fuck if I burn out, don't give a fuck if I fade away

Sorry to all parties involved, but this album isn't that great. It's got its moments, but Potempkin is much more consistent and memorable. It's good, but it isnt the second coming as people claim it.

I find some of the songs sound alike. That's never really bugged me, though. I'm happy with my 4 rating.

Bzzt, incorrect. Potemkin is pretty uneven, but still a great album. And consistency isn't that important so long as the songwriting is good, which TETA has in spades. I feel the music reflects the attitude of the lyrics a bit more effectively on this album than the "angry lyrics, lukewarm music" approach of PCL. And I can name plenty of great moments off of this, song-by-song, whereas there's a crapload of straight filler on PCL.

TETA > PCL > HTCE > LTMR > WQIJ#1 is pretty much the good to not as good Propagandhi hierarchy.

Yeah except PCL you know like has some experimentation in it so it wins. None of it is really filler compared to this album. So what, because Propagandhi tried to do a few math-rock songs, its automatically filler? I think you lose. And song writing? Sorry, but a song like "Fuck the Border" automatically discredits that. Dunderheaded to say the least.

lol @ Fuck The Border... one song does not automatically discredit the whole album. Todd wrote it in like five minutes. And what math-rock songs are you talking about on PCL? And experimentation does not always = good. Ever listen to Into The Unknown by Bad Religion? If that was all an album needed to be good ITU would be great. But it's not. It totally fucking sucks, actually. Again, Potemkin is a great album that, unfortunately, is painfully boring at times and very, very hard to get through in one sitting. I'd say the ratio of good to bad songs on PCL is about 75-25, whereas on TETA it's more like 90-10. But then again, this is my opinion and I'm pretty sure you're not changing it with your particular rationale.

PCL is a fantastic record, but songs like Fedellah's Hearse and Fixed Frequences drag a little( other than that its pretty damn good). TETA is Prop's greatest album and one of the best punk records ever. That's my opinion. And Fuck The Border still owns.

Even after listening to this again, the only things that truly stand out for me are the title track, Back to the Motor League, and Purina Hall of Fame

Oh and Cut into the Earth and The Bringer of Greater Things certainly fall under the Math-rock category. This Message Edited On 06.10.07

You left out Bullshit Politicians, Ladies' Night In Loserville, With Friends Like These, Natural Disasters, Albright Monument, and the first song that I don't wanna spell out, all of which IMO rank as some of Prop's best songs ever. And not to mention the guitar work on TETA is infinitely more interesting, varied, and complex, and not dragged down by songs that go on two-three minutes longer than they should. But whatever.
