"saw catchy in the summary knew it was gonna be a davey review"
I am Sputnik's resident expert in catchiness.
"Haha, I knew you were gonna review this, I was last.fm stalking you the other day. The same website told me these guys are similar to Bayside, and you say that as well - so you can count me in."
StrikeyStalker. Yeah, these guys are actually really close to Bayside personally since they come from the same area. The sound also has its similarities. Actually, I think the 1st paragraph can also apply to Bayside... One huge song is all they need. Definitely worth the luisten Adam.
"ZOMG ONE OF THE MEMBERS WAS IN SKYCAMEFALLING SO THIS IS METALCORE RIGHT?"
I think 2 of them were in Skycamefalling. But no, they are definitely not metalcore.
"I'm not sure...but I think you made a mistake Davis. Oh and is there any songs that are as catchy as the climb, on this?"
You just point me in the direction of that mistake LG... Hmmm, if you like 'The Climb' as their best song, you may actually prefer this album over their last. That song easily could have fit on this album.

Love the last track.

Either way, Mr. Boy, I will be grateful if this turns out a worthwhile venture.

i remember seeing these guys open for Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, and Matchbook Romance back in 2004. never really listened to anything other than their debut.
|
| |
impressive list of bigger bands, but were they good?
|
| |
Forgot about these guys, absolutely loving this album right now...never really got into their earlier stuff obviously since I forgot they existed, but I don't think I'm going to forget this album at all.

they were good enough for me to buy their cd.

dcha, I also really like the closer. I'm still not convinced it was perfect for the role of lead single, but I really think The Sleeping are too worried about that at present.
Thanks Lakes. I'm certain your review will still be just fine. You've had long enough to go through it with a fine tooth comb now.
Adam (of the Knott variety), I can almost assure you that you will really like one of their albums, but I'm not totally certain which one. Me being me prefers 'What It Takes' which has a Rise Against vibe. Their debut is progressive & all over the place. This and 'Questions & Answers' take the middle ground as such.
Adam (of the Thomas) variety, just listening to them on record, I would presume they are a great live band. It's just something about the basslines especially.
Good to hear you like this Caged. If you prefer this over their first 2 albums, then give 'What It Takes' a try also. (if you haven't already).

I...can't...get into this cd. I love love love their old business. But I can't do it.

Oooh, not good. I don't think you'll be the only one PB.

I REALLY liked the single that came out before the release. and I'm in this weird alt rock funk right now, Everything has to sound like Saosin (/w Anthony/ w/o) not sure why

But fti, you gave 'Q&A' the same rating as 'WIT" and I'd argue there wasn't anything near as good as 'Bomb the World' on there either. Like I said, YouTube the lead single & see how you go.

Interesting. Might check this out, only because I've seen "progressive" in the summary.

one of my friends used to really like these guys, i think i might have some songs of theirs lying around my itunes.
i feel like there's a 57% chance i'll like this davey. is that a good estimate?

I'm really jamming on "Oh Gloria", absolutely wonderful indie pop song. This album kind of creeps up on you after a few listens.
|
| |
The album itself is forgettable, but the last track is pretty nice.
|
| |
i mean this is decent but you know

I have a feelin this is gonna disappoint, especially after just listening to Volbeat's new album.

On first listen, my response to this record was: meh.
