I have to be honest; Next to GY!BE, these guys are my favorite post-rock band. Yes, i like these guys more than EitS and Sigur Ros. I've only heard this album once on their Myspace stream, though, so i probably shouldn't rate it yet. I really dug All is Violent and their s/t though.

The first half is boring but the second half is really good, especially the title track.

and there's nothing wrong with that. They've delivered great stuff before, and I'm sure fans of the band will love this one too.

Ah, alright I see. thanks for the help with that.
I read in other review comments for this band that say that this is one of your fav post rock groups. Have you given the album a listen?

I haven't listened to it yet, but I plan to. Even if they haven't changed much I'll probably still like this.

Cool, I have a feeling I may be on the lower end of reviews for this rating-wise when other sites start coming out with them. Fans that loved their past stuff and want more of that probably won't be too disappointed.

Yeah, I like them because they take post rock and get right to the good stuff.
If most post-rock is like a 70s porno with a plot written by James Cameron, then God Is An Astronaut is like one of those five minute flash videos that starts right at the good stuff and ends before the cuddling.

hahaha, nice. I guess you wouldn't be caught dead listening to Stars Of The Lid, eh? Idk, entended build ups can just make the eventual jam session all the more fulfilling at the end.

I can't sit still long enough to get through any build-ups. That's why I can't deal with most post rock (or post metal for that matter).

Well, on the topic of post metal, have you given the new Rosetta a spin? It weaves in and out of hard and ambiant sequences fairly quickly. I don't find it boring at all.
Also, you might find the first half of this album a little hard to sit through in that case. It speeds up near the end though.

I've never heard anything by Rosetta. I guess I'll look into them.

hope you enjoy what you try. Definitely one of my fav bands.
A synced Galliean Satellites is something you must experience. With a 4.3 average, its def something look into.
