I like this album, nothing to write home about tho. There are some great songs, and they have progressed however, which is nice.
I'll give it 3.5/5

This album is much better than their debut as this has more of an experimental element in it and the songs can be more extreme the ones on the debut, like "Man Or Animal", it is a frantic song from start to finish with electrifying riffs and solo. "Yesterday To Tomorrow" should be released next as it is a beautiful song with a great opening riff to the solo on it and IMO the best on the album. Its an excellent album.

is an OK production. If you're hoping that Audioslave somehow picked things up, don't expect too much. One of my biggest complaints about this album is Chris Cornell's bland lyrics; they were almost painful—which probably made the album a little harder to listen to. Maybe he wrote his best work with Soundgarden.

i like this album so much more than the first ...did anyone happen to catch audioslave cover killing in the name of...I was so sad...i miss rage..i thnik cornells pipes are goin as well.

Hnnnrr, the whole album was very generic. They simply did not push themselves, and the riffs were just lacking any kind substance. Sorry Chris, try a little harder next time.
And by the way, I am a HUGE Soundgarden fan, so this isn't a biased comment.

yeh i retract my statment i made earlier i do think this album is very generic like the person about me stated i am also a huge soundgadern and rage fan but this just seems to be very superfical and doesant differanceate from any other rock band out there today both bands were pionerrs in there days so lets hope that they pull out the big guns next time like they did 10-15yuears ago and make somting orgional not generic.....2.5 outta 5

Doesn't seem as good as the self-titled album, even though that wasn't great. I've only gave it one listen, so I won't rate it, but my impression is that it's ranging from 2,5-3/5....

So, this isn't highly recommended?

The album is something to definitly check out. When you hold it up to the modern music scene in general, it is one of the best albums to come out as of late. In comparison to RATM's eponymous album or Superunknown, it may not have that immediate appeal you may be looking for. Out Of Exile may not go down in history as a crucial musical landmark, but it is still very good. It is Chris and Rage's rythem section for f*cks sake. Don't listen to the naysayers.

I really enjoy this album, but I don't see why these guys get so much flack for sounding similar to Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden. Rage Against the Machine was defined a lot by Morello's guitar playing stlye so naturally whenever he plays he will use the same style and it will sound similar, and Cornell can't magically change his voice and sound different, he will sound similar to how he did in Soundgarden because he has the same voice. Overall I like the progression of the band as they do try to distance themselves from the past.

Yeah, it seems to be a good enough album, but nothing really special. Probably a 3 for me, but I won't rate it until I've heard some more of it.

5 is incredibly overrated for this album. It's good, but not as good as their debut, and nothing really THAT special.
a 3 for me probably... 3,5 or even 4 for their debut.

i happen to like this album, even though the songs can seem forced. The music is excellently written. Bravo!

"Heaven's Dead" and "Doesn't Remind Me" and "Drown Me Slowly" are real high points of the album. I think you should buy it if you don't have it. It's really good, but not a classic. Not, IMO, as many fillers on this album as the debut......a really good sophomore effort as opposed to most others.
