I think back in 2019 I yelled at these guys to play the X Files theme at a live show and this album appears to be retaliation for that so I want to apologize to all Rings of Saturn fans for that

their first 2 albums are aight, some [questionably arranged] fun riffs and breakdowns. geeky but not pretentious, and honestly on paper going a more cybergrind route would complement their approach...but yeah this feels like lucas trying to reinvent the band into being youtube shred along the lines of berrid alive, and that's fine but in album format just comes across as a bunch of unrefined guitar exercises stacked ontop of videogamey/dance beats written by someone with no background in electronic music. it's an amusing effort, but lacks any sort of progression as an artist/band/etc. it's basically just fucking around and releasing it for weed money
also it would've been 10 times funnier if they had some guy trying to do rap growls over this

yeah the first album is actually quite fun. actually structured pretty well comparatively and catchy for as wanky as it is. very amateur production but i have a soft spot for it. it actually was fresh and different at the time.
