Oso Oso Sore Thumb1.5
Father Tracy is the only good song. End of review.r
A Great Big Pile of Leaves Pono4.0
A more relaxed effort as compared to ?You?re Always on My Mind? but still solid and brings AGBPOL?s normal vibes from past records. This is what ?The National? should?ve sounded like instead of snoozer music.
Washed Out Purple Noon3.5
Kevin Krauter Full Hand4.0
Excellent release from underground artist Kevin Krauter. Little bit of chillwave mixed with dream pop. Great melodies and awesome production. One of the best releases of 2020 thus far!
The Dangerous Summer Mother Nature4.5
The Dangerous Summer return to form since their 2nd full-length ?War Paint?. Every album since didn?t do it for me but this one manages to be fresh in the pop-punk realm while experimenting with new sounds for the band that compliment AJ?s sick vocals. 4.5/5 for me
Basement Beside Myself3.0
The Story So Far Proper Dose4.0
SAVE MY SOOOOUULLLLL.
Counterparts Private Room3.5
We Forgive is a fantastic song! I wish they would put together a record of straight melodic bangers like this one
Wild Nothing Indigo4.0
Elder Brother Stay Inside4.0
It?s raining outside, Stay Inside and listen to this album. Excellent guitar playing and vocals. Another one from Elder Brother that sticks..
You Blew It! Abendrot1.5
@sandwichbubble this sounds nothing like their other releases..this album is so boring and the riffs suck and the drums are boring.
Joyce Manor Cody4.0
Another catchy record from Joyce Manor. These guys are so damn consistent and the fact that they are able to make subtle changes in their sound while pulling it off. Love these guys!
Touche Amore ...To the Beat of a Dead Horse5.0
This album is a classic..been listening to it for about 4 years now and still haven't gotten sick of it. Lyrically amazing, driving drums, moody riffs. Perfection for a debut LP
Touche Amore Stage Four4.5
Touche Amore's most melodic endeavor thus far but god damn it hits. This album will become a classic and quite possibly their opus. I actually liked the vocal variety on the album. Skyscraper is such an interesting song. I didn't like it at first but now I can't get it out of my head. Pummeling drums, melodic guitars, vocal variety, extremely honest and personal lyrics. Going to be a classic in a few years.
Departures Teenage Haze4.5
Departures Death Touches Us, From The Moment We Begin To Love3.0
Gates (USA-NJ) Parallel Lives3.5
A toned down effort from Gates that displays their strengths; Catchy choruses, atmosphere, and great vocals. However, it lacks the punch that their predecessor had. Still a great release and I'm sure it'll grow on me a bit more.
Somos First Day Back3.0
Pretty disappointed in this release to be honest. The best songs on the LP are the singles "Thorn in the side" and "Alright I'll Wait". The album lacks vocal variety and ultimately it lacks the energy that made Temple of Plenty a fantastic album that was my AOTY in 2014. Hope these guys return to form on their next release.
Wild Nothing Life of Pause2.5
Where the fuck are the guitars??
Trophy Eyes Everything Goes Away4.5
Foxing Dealer2.0
Trophy Eyes Mend, Move On5.0
Can't remember the last time I 5'd an album..I can't get over how perfectly crafted this album is. The way they effortlessly change time signatures that create an emotional presence in their songs. The tight instrumentation. The insanely melodic guitars and even melodic harsh vocals that took me some time to get used to but when reading into the lyrics, the vocals are extremely fitting. Gotta give props to trophy eyes for crafting a perfect melodic hardcore LP as their first full length.
Counterparts Prophets3.5
Counterparts The Current Will Carry Us4.0
Counterparts Tragedy Will Find Us2.5
Huge letdown of an album. The music's just as good as the album art. Counterparts goes for more of a straight-forward hardcore sound that totally disrupts what they have been doing on previous releases. On previous releases, the melodies stood out more and actually added a sense of passion to their songs. On certain tracks on this album, it just seems like they add a melodic part at one point of the song that just seems out of place. Best song on the album is Solace and that's because it sounds like it could be off their opus 'The Difference Between Hell and Home'. I think one can gain an understanding of the direction of this album by listening to the god awful track 'Choke'. Seems like Counterparts tried to release the angry 13 year old that was trapped inside of them by displaying it on this track. Not saying the other tracks on this album are as bad as this track lyrically. As a matter of fact, the lyrics on this album are probably its strong point. But for me, I like my hardcore to have copious amounts of melody and not so much brutality (see band 'It Prevails').
Counterparts The Difference Between Hell and Home4.5
Funeral Advantage Body is Dead4.5
There's one word that comes to mind when describing this album: 'Lifeless'. How can something sound so good and yet be lifeless at the same time? It amazes me how this album is able to pull something like this off. The arpeggiated guitar playing throughout this album are reminiscent of acts like American Football mixed with a dreamy atmosphere of bands like Wild Nothing. The keys provide a backdrop for the songs which give it such a unique and almost daunting atmosphere. The vocals are also on point. I love how he can be subdued at some points but then on some tracks he increases his range to provide sweet pop vocal melodies. Favorite track is probably the bass-driven "You Sat Alone" which has a great groove throughout the song and an awesome cascading guitar melody in the pre-chorus. My gripes with this album are minimal. The drumming is kind of boring and the ending of "Body Is Dead" is such a huge letdown. The song drops out and builds up to what you think is going to be a brilliant crescendo of some sort and the guitar line for this "crescendo" is such a boring let down. They could have done something so amazing with that ending but instead chose to put some boring guitar part that plays on for way too long. Other than that, this album is amazing and could very well be my AOTY.
Hail the Sun Wake4.0
Diggin this band HARD. Love how much the vocals sound like Anthony Green and the fact that he plays complex drum parts while belting out catchy as hell hooks is very impressive. This band wreaks talent and they are going to be a huge success in the near future. Definitely would have been one of my favorite releases of 2014.
Last Dinosaurs Wellness4.0
Guitar hooks, guitar hooks, guitar hooks..this album is insanely catchy with great grooves and melodies. The only gripe with the album is how synthetic everything kind of sounds on the album but the consistency from front to back makes up for it
Neck Deep Life's Not Out To Get You4.5
The more and more I listen to this LP from Neck Deep, the more that one word comes to mind: FUN. This album is just loaded with nothing but a good time. The riffs are fun, the lyrics are fun (at most times), the vocals are fun. This is everything that I've been searching for in a pop-punk release. Hats off to this band for crafting a really excellent album and shattering their 'run of the mill' shit pop punk that a ton of bands are trying out nowadays. Other than a few weak tracks (December, Citizens of Earth, Serpents) this album is consistent as hell and is one of my favorite pop punk LP's I've ever heard.
It Prevails Stroma4.5
After multiple listens, I have to say that this is It Prevails's strongest release. It's even better than their new one 'Perdition'. Every song on this LP is emotionally gripping and passionate. The guitar parts are tremendous and filled with melody. The vocals are amazing, both harsh and clean. I gained so much respect for their lead singer after I found out he wrote all the guitar parts, the structures of the songs, and of course his amazing singing parts. It Prevails is in my opinion, the best Melodic Hardcore band in the sub genre. They're doing it better than Counterparts and should be getting more recognition for it.
It Prevails Perdition4.0
One of my favorite releases of 2015 thus far. Soaring choruses, great melodic guitar lines, and uplifting lyrical content..this LP has it all. I guess my only gripe is that the harsh vocals are kind of hard to make out but other than that this album is a great post-hardcore/melodic hardcore release. Going to check previous discography out now because of this!
Nai Harvest Hairball3.5
I actually found this album to be quite enjoyable. Especially here in the Florida summer. With pounding drum beats, melodic guitar riffs, and anthematic choruses, this LP really reminded me of something from Cloud Nothings or a Japandroids record. There are a few drawbacks though. 1. The production on the vocals is kind of off-putting but I get that they were trying to go for a Lo-Fi/Garage Rock type sound..the vocals just didn't compare to how they sounded on their most recent EP. 2. The tracks on this album can be quite repetitive. Not that they all sound the same, but each song will pound it's hook into your head, or maybe a guitar riff into your head, or maybe a drum pattern..catch my drift. 3.Theres some throwaway tracks in my opinion (I.e., 'Gimme Gimme' and even the title track was kind of a letdown). All in all, this albums not terrible, but it's not amazing either. Definitely worth checking out though if you're looking for a good summer indie rock record.

I had to 5 this album..an album that's intense, melodic, and brutally honest with the lyrics. Perfect album to
workout to as well
Toro Y Moi What For?4.5
This albums so fucking catchy! Perfect summer album for this Florida weather
Turnover Peripheral Vision4.0
Turnover is such an underrated band..this album is beautiful (i.e. that opening riff on 'Humming') love the dream pop vibe they're putting out on this LP.
Weatherbox Flies In All Directions4.0
Title Fight Hyperview4.5
Album is amazing. I literally can't stop listening to it ever since it dropped a couple weeks ago. This might top 'Floral Green' for me.
Gates (USA-NJ) Bloom and Breathe4.5

Forgot how insanely catchy this album is! Holy jams

Holy fuck this album is pure punk genius. So insanely catchy and melodic!! A must listen to any punk pop-punk fans
Reggie and The Full Effect Under the Tray5.0
Wild Nothing Golden Haze4.0
'Quiet Hours' might be the greatest song ever written..like no joke
Prawn Kingfisher3.5
If this was a Brand New record it would be getting 4.5-5's but because it's Prawn, it'll get 3.5-4 ratings! All in all, I enjoy the majority of the songs on here. The slow-tempo songs kinda bring it down but songs like "First as Tragedy....." And "Dialectic Of.." Are what make me come back for more!
A Bunny's Caravan Draining Puddles, Retrieving Treasures2.5
Four Year Strong Go Down In History4.5
Cheatahs Cheatahs4.0
Joyce Manor Never Hungover Again4.0
A lot of the melodies remind me of stuff the smiths had on their records
Braid No Coast3.5
The other guy who isn't bob nanna absolutely sucks at singing. Why isn't it just Nanna on all the tracks?!??
Tyler, the Creator Goblin3.5
The Story So Far Songs Of2.0
The only band that ever pulled this off was The Starting Line on the Make yourself at home EP!
Mac DeMarco Salad Days4.0
"Let Her Go" is such a jam!! Album is chill as hell to listen in the Florida sun. Where one lives really plays into how much an album can be enjoyed.
Brave Bird T-Minus Grand Gesture4.0
Brave Bird needs to be heard by more people. They are so amazing and so is this release. The first three songs are spectacular!
Earl Sweatshirt EARL4.0
Chief Keef Finally Rich2.0
GZA Liquid Swords5.0

The Menzingers Rented World4.0
The menzingers make a straightforward, somewhat mainstream punk album while still coming up with intricate melodies that stick out. These guys just continue to make great music with each release.
Drake Nothing Was the Same3.0
Bane Give Blood3.5
Lyrically, this album is awesome with Themes of being on tour, staying strong, and even living a full life. However, the vocalist doesn't really seem to flow his vocals all too well rhythmically. They probably recorded his vocals last or something.
Nas STILLmatic4.5
Maps For Travelers Change Your Name4.5
PEOPLE GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM. AMAZING
Freddie Gibbs and Madlib Pinata4.5
Honestly I don't see how any rapper in the game could top this album in 2014. I mean you have one of the best producers ever and Freddie gibbs was on point on almost every song. This reminds me of the madvillian album.

Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city4.5
MF DOOM Operation: Doomsday4.5

ASAP Ferg Trap Lord3.0
Danny Brown Old4.0
ScHoolboy Q Oxymoron3.5
Real Estate Atlas4.0
These guys can't make bad music. However, I like 'Days' a little more because it went for a little more of a pop direction, where as this album seems a lot more lo-fi and mellowed out
The Lost Years This Year Brought Out The Worst In Me4.0
Damn I checked this album out too after reading the Hotelier sound off haha. Lyrics kinda bring it down but this is so damn catchy
Boys No Good Never Felt Better4.5
Really great Pop punk. Catchy riffs with catchy, gruffy vocals
Jawbreaker Dear You4.5
This album is so fuckin catchy. The melodies, the lyrics, even some riffs get stuck in my head and are constantly on repeat in my brain! I love this album
Deafheaven Sunbather3.0
This albums first three songs are great...everything else is boring as shit. Dream House might be one of my favorite songs of the year but this album doesn't deserve all the praise it gets. The album art is intriguing which probably has something to do with all the praise it's getting as well.
The Fall of Troy Doppelganger5.0
Fairweather If They Move...Kill Them3.5
Misery Signals Controller5.0
God this is what every metalcore band should model their sound after. This album is so unpredictable at times which is awesome. 'Coma' is the best track imo but every song on this album holds their weight.
Such Gold Pedestals4.5
Melodic hardcore mixed with pop punk deliciousness. This EP riffs my fucking anus open and drops melodic tinged grenades down my colon. That being said, Such Gold fucking rules and this EP is amazing.

chief keef sucks donkey nuts and licks major jejunum on this album he is the worst rapper in the game I honestly would rate a lil b album higher
Into It. Over It. Intersections3.0
The production on the album really wears it down.. Weiss had some great ideas but I feel like he was trying to lean more towards an Owen project than just doing what he did on Proper. Proper > Intersections... sorry Weiss
Have Mercy (Indie) The Earth Pushed Back4.5
Such an amazing record..second favorite album this year (after A Great Big Pile of Leaves's album )
The Dangerous Summer Golden Record2.5
This album fucking sucks. Nothing will be as good as Reach for the sun
Balance and Composure The Things We Think We're Missing4.0
The Swellers Good For Me4.5
Owen L'Ami du Peuple3.0
Coming from the biggest mike kinsella/owen/American football fan; I don't think this record is that great. It's got some great songs but in my opinion it's New Leaves part II. With only a couple good songs and the rest just sounding too folky for me.
A Great Big Pile of Leaves You're Always on My Mind4.5
J. Cole Born Sinner4.5
Their / They're / There Their / They're / There4.5
Wild Nothing Nocturne5.0

Turnover Magnolia4.0
Real Estate Days4.5
Transit Young New England3.0
Joe needs to do something about his voice. His vocals are shit on this record.
Alkaline Trio My Shame Is True3.5
Matt's guitar playing is definitely a lot better on this record. 'She Lied to the FBI' might be my new favorite Alkaline Trio song. This album isn't really doin much for me though. Hopefully it'll grow on me, but it just sounds SO similar to the songs off their last two albums.
Sunday's Best Poised to Break4.0
Can't believe there isn't a review for this. Such an awesome album!

The Story So Far What You Don't See4.0
Definitely had to listen to it more than USAD to fall in love but goddamn this band knows how to begin and end an album. Solid release no doubt
Hostage Calm Hostage Calm4.5
The drummer in this band is my favorite drummer in the scene right now. He absolutely kills it on this record and anyone who plays drums has to listen to this album. All-around fantastic album.
Handguns Angst4.0
This album really is a guilty pleasure. People are expecting way too much from this band. The album is called "Angst" for christ's sake. Nevertheless, these guys wanted to create a catchy album that brings listeners back to their younger days. Ala sounds of garage doors opening and closing at the beginning and end of the album, bike riding, love, parental relationships. All the things you would expect from a teenager's life.
I Call Fives I Call Fives4.0

C'mon guys it's not as good as you say it is...Jhamie has no cool lead parts on this album like he did on Shed.
