| There's a lot that doesn't work on this album, the vocal deliveries when Winston isn't channeling the classic roar of the Parkway of old are some of the more embarrassing attempts at depth you can find in metal. If there's a cool riff it'll be overshadowed by some other idea that sucks all the joy from the experience, if not an entire song like "If a God Can Bleed" which is hands down the worst song in the band's catalogue. Not entirely unsalvagable of fun but the band sure tries their best to make it that way. |

Senses Fail has continued the downward trajectory since Still
Searching. While albums like Renacer halted this decline by
introducing more heartfelt introspection and just being
plain good, Hell Head dives into more anxious territory worn
entirely on its sleeve to a tiring degree. It's not that I
disagree with what he's feeling, it's just not what I want to hear
from Buddy in 2022. It's such a stark contrast to the era Senses
Fail had when Still Searching and not for the better. |

| I questioned if it was a 5 for the longest time because it's apparent in its goodness and has songs like "Another Space Song" which just transcends reason to how good it is but the secret isn't to just pick your favorite songs and just jerk yourself over how in awe you are over them but take a trip with the album and hit all the stops along the way. Once you take it all in it only makes sense to give it a 5. |

The production is sublime and overall just a really fun listen. It doesn't re-invent the wheel, it doesn't build off the decade old album but it doesn't have to necessarily. I'd be surprised to hear from anyone with even a slight interest in metal to not come away with a least some appreciation of the symphonies on here. |

Yeah, this sucks hard. A cd with a haphazard
playlist Victory Records threw out to get
shelf space with the bands newest release at
the time, "Hypersleep Dialogues ep". This
exists for no other sole reason then bitter
contempt on the labels part, not to celebrate
the band, and definitely not for the fans. The
tracks are great of course but the picks are
not only perplexing at points buy lazy as
there's a few tracks slapped on in the bands
chronological order. None from S/T (I'm unsure
if they had music rights to it).r
It has live performances though! That's cool!
If they weren't just grabs from the deluxe
editions of the albums that Victory pumps out
to double dip on their successful acts. Just
awful as a product and the music is honestly
better consumed in literally any other way
than this compilation. |
