I was really worried that this band would follow in the footsteps of so many melodic death metal bands and compromise their sound over time, but they've stayed true to their roots while still growing as a solid metal band.

Absolutely one of the greatest composers of today. Even if you haven't seen of the movies, he captures an imaginative, fantastical approach to music that is lacking in much classical compositions of today. It is a jovial escape!

If you love solo piano, these playful compositions will most likely soothe your craving. It's not the most intricately composed or even packed with talent... it's just, really enjoyable.

Much like the title, the entire album is much like a 99cent romance novel. It's kinda fun to listen to once, but after you know the plot and read all the juicy bits, you're ready to just stack it on your self and let it gather dust... or simply throw it away. It leaves no great impression and is easily forgotten.

Yet another highly prolific band, and yet, I think Adore just breathes sensuality and morbid curiosity... It's like the bad boy your mom always warns you about, but you always secretly fantasize over when no one's watching.

I have to listen to this album in small doses and only when I'm in a certain mood, but guaranteed, every single time I do listen to it, I'm amazed by the creativity and the experimentation of this band. They don't pull any punches and they take a lot of chances-- and they're musical talent bleeds through!

Deas Vail All The Houses Look The Same4.0

Children of Bodom Are You Dead Yet?4.0
Possibly the only truly great album this band has put out. It always seemed like Bodom was desperately working their way up to SOMETHING spectacular, but always falling short of that mark. Then, their stuff got terribly repetitive and lacked ALL sense of creativity. While this is far from metal perfection, I think it embodies all the band could possibly amount to.

Panic! at the Disco A Fever You Can't Sweat Out1.0
I will never EVER understand how a band THIS shitty ever sold so many copies of this worthless album. If there ever was an album I loathed more than this one, I'd probably have to throw up all over it.
Panic! at the Disco Pretty. Odd.1.0
Fall Out Boy Infinity on High1.0
If there was a way to cut out this kid's jugular and sell it to the squealing lil scene children ... I would do it in a heartbeat. I think i equate these guys with a Backstreet Boys of my generation. They aren't even worth being called N*Sync... they're THAT bad.

Coheed and Cambria Year of the Black Rainbow3.0
This album has some good moments, but it's a step down from their last album. It seems to lack depth and moves into an almost post-rock kind of territory, where simplicity is replaced with bland, empty tracks and platitudes. I was hoping for greater progressive epics, but I was deeply dissatisfied.
Coheed and Cambria No World for Tomorrow4.5
This album is very reticent of Pink Floyd. Many of the songs have lengthy, progressive solos that sound ethereal and contain a lot of depth. It was an impressive direction for the band in my opinion.
Coheed and Cambria In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 34.5
Coheed and Cambria From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness4.0
It's always an obvious answer: Welcome Home is an epic track worth recognition, but I think this band has a lot more room to grow.

Once Nothing First Came the Law4.5
It's so raw. It's southern metal that's charged with vital frustration and punched with retribution. He sounds so damn pissed off, and all i want to do is stand behind him as he charges through the city in revolt.
Thirty Seconds to Mars A Beautiful Lie1.5
This band is nothing more than a waste of time. They're gimmicky and cater to that ever growing emo crowd that think if a lead singer wears eyeliner and plugs, he MUST be badass and therefore, his music MUST be good. I cry bs.
Thirty Seconds to Mars This Is War1.0
A bad band getting worse. How unexpected! An album full of poppy, vapid tracks lacking all creativity. No wonder it hit so high on the charts.

Sadly, I really believe this is exactly where the band peaked. With wonderful instrumentals and a strong lead guitarist, I think this band was heading towards good potential, but after losing their awesome drummer and caving into the demands of scene kids asking for more watered down metal, this band lost it's edge.

It's a bit tragic this band doesn't get more credit. This album contains one of my most favorite songs: The Forest. It's a bit simple, but the lyrics are creative and imaginative and the piano work is light and provocative.

Powerful guitar work, from the first track to the last! If this album doesn't make you drool all over yourself in feverish excitement, then you should check your pulse.
In Flames Colony5.0
This is by far one of the absolute best albums the band has put out. I think they really embodied the heart and soul of melodic death metal in a good chunk of this album. The original lead guitarist featured on here definitely proved his glaring talent.

Oh how the might fall. It never stops being disappointing.

Some of the tracks on here, like Cowbell's, have an almost progressive metalcore feel. The vocals are strong, but don't overpower the definitely strength in guitar work and drum work. Their later albums, unfortunately, don't carry through with that same "badass" creativity and experimentation.

I think the band made a wise change when they replaced their old lead singer. He may have had talent, but the change has obviously forced the band to step it up a notch. Where laziness was reigning, creativity and experimentation are moving on in... It'll be interesting to see their next moves.
Emarosa Emarosa3.0
Emarosa Relativity4.0
When Johnny first stepped into the band, he was raw talent without much of that prideful bravado. It seemed like he had found a good niche in Emarosa, and a lot of the tracks on this album are actually pretty damn solid, but it's sadly the best they'll ever be.
Emarosa This Is Your Way Out4.5
Before Johnny came in and took over the whole damn band, Emarosa was definitely heading in a pretty solid direction. With tracks like Epoch Coda, they showed they new how a progressive track COULD be constructed. It's a shame they didn't continue on in the vein.
Pierce the Veil A Flair for the Dramatic4.0
I know that this is totally classified as a crazy guilty pleasure, but for some reason I really love this album. The vocals are pretty unique, if not a little odd, but what really shines out is the talent of the lead guitarist and bassist. These guys jam hard and aren't afraid to really grow and push themselves. I hope to see even better work, compositionally, from them in the future.
Pierce the Veil Selfish Machines4.0
Isles and Glaciers The Hearts of Lonely People3.0
Just another opportunity for Johnny "Eat Me" Craig to show off his "amazing" vocals to the ever-gasping, squealing hardcore crowd. I'll be thankful when he's not producing music anymore.

In Flames Soundtrack to Your Escape5.0
In Flames Whoracle5.0
This is probably the album that MOST metalheads can all agree was pretty damn good. Even if you don't dig melodic, you gotta dig the subtle death metal riffs and vocals throughout this entire album. It's so goooood!
In Flames Clayman5.0
In Flames Reroute to Remain5.0
In Flames Come Clarity5.0
Once again, definitely one of my top favorite albums by this band. Oh how I wish they were still this damn good.
