Some may call rit "selling out," but I don't see it - this is an immensely fun record that's a huge rimprovement over Sainthood and has all the hallmarks you'd expect from a T&S record, just in ra more accessible, danceable package. |

| It's like Kitaro had a threesome with a Super Nintendo and some really artsy Brooklyn chick. Okay, a foursome. There was a MIDI keyboard involved. And then the product of that foursome met up with a drummer and a bassist and some other people, and made this album. Really, really good stuff. |

| Kitaro In Person | 4.0 |
| On the surface, In Person seems to be a revisitation of past (and future) themes in Kitaro's work, but that doesn't make it any less of a masterwork. As a whole, In Person is better produced than his previous albums, allowing all the layers of his music to come to the forefront. Synthesized choirs and violins, not present in earlier, or future works, also paint an "epic" mood that is rarely matched within his work. Those same tinkling electronics that seem to introduce many of his albums are still present here, though perhaps it's that sense of familiarity that makes his work so immediately endearing. Despite this familiarity, In Person is another fantastic album in Kitaro's catalog - though the diversity and mystique of Astral Voyage has yet to be matched. |

| A fuzzy, relaxing and well-written indie album from a band that showed so much potential. It obviously can't compare to follow-up In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, but unlike that album, On Avery Island doesn't demand attention; it just bustles along in its own lo-fi groove. |

| Klaxons Surfing the Void | 3.0 |
| Surfing the Void is a thoroughly great album that is only let down by repetivity. Klaxons make danceable yet introspective and heavy rock. Although by the second half it begins to lose steam, it is still worth more than a few listens. Recommended tracks: "Echoes," "Venusia," "Flashover"rp.s. Dear meatheads, kindly stop giving this album a 2.5 or belowr-the intellectuals |

| The Revere The Great City | 3.5 |
| Playing a blend of alternative, punk, progressive and everything else rock, The Revere make a promising debut in The Great City. Perhaps going for a concept album for their first record was a bit too ambitious, because one feels like they start more ideas than they finish and at the end, you may feel wowed but you'll be struggling to remember any of the contents of the album. The Great City is undoubtedly an album that will take several listens to sink in, but The Revere show great potential. |

| I almost gave this a 1.5, but then I realized it would be an insult to Escape the Fate to do that. You thought their previous stuff with Fergie was bad? This is even worse. At least that was somewhat fun. What, you're telling me there are people who actually enjoy this crap? This should be used to torture prisoners on war, it's that bad. It should be illegal for regular citizens to be subjected to such torture. |

| Saying what everyone else already knows here; ICP is awful. However, one of their only good songs, "Hall of Illusions" is on this album, and that is one sick beast of a song. A few others are somewhat funny to listen to for a gross-out laugh, such as "The Neden Game," but on the whole this is a really poor album that's way too inconsistent to be considered good. |

| Well, I've only heard around three albums to come out this year so far, but this could be my favorite of the three. It's nothing groundbreaking, just incredibly catchy, consistent and diverse hip-hop. Simple, but great. Buy it. |

| Kansas Song for America | 4.0 |
| Kansas' sophomore album Song for America, one of two albums they released in 1975, sees them at their heaviest, most progressive, and most ambitious, but consequently also at their best. Despite pressure from their label to write a hit, Kansas weren't yet worried about that, and their unchained ambition made Song for America possibly their strongest release. Their longest song, "Hymn for the Atman," clocking in at 12 minutes, serves as the closer, and contains spaced-out vocals, organ, synth, and drum solos, and etc. In short, the amount of progressive wankery here is undeniable, which may make Song for America fairly divisive among those who aren't fans of the genre (after all, Kansas are pretty cheesy to begin with), but it also makes this their strongest record for those who are able to bear with it. |

| Weezer Maladroit | 3.5 |
| Okay, I've probably been handing out too many 4's lately, but this is an album that truly deserves it. The harder rock sound, excellent riffing and pounding drums make it one of the best Weezer albums, and several songs, such as "Take Control", are some of their best to date. The only letdowns are the pointless fillers "Space Rock" and "Possibilities", and as a result Maladroit stands as their best post-Pinkerton release, excluding Death to False Metal. 7.6/10 |

| By far the worst Weezer album, and the only one I don't own (that's for good reason). Even the most diehard fan has to admit this is just a piece of crap. The worst culprits? "Beverly Hills" and "The Damage in Your Heart". As for the rest, it's mostly abysmal, sell out "alt" rock that the band should be ashamed of making, with the exceptions of "Peace" and "Perfect Situation". |
| Styx Pieces of Eight | 4.0 |
| Picked this up at my local library. Kind of boring for the first couple tracks, but it picks up at "Lords of the Rings." Every song after that is masterfully done, a true testament to Styx's greatness. |

| Tired of AC/DC doing nothing to change their stagnant style? Enter Black Ice, AC/DC's 2008 "comeback album." Yep, you guessed it; once again, there is absolutely no change in anything on this album but the quality of the songs. This album is so boring, I haven't listened to it since the week I got it. In 2008. I'm not sure I was even able to sit through it all the way through, it's so long and boring. Avoid at all costs. |

| I credit this album (and this band) to introducing me to music. I've never been a fan of the genre, but this album resonated with me. I memorized the words to every song and played it more times than I can count. Although unfortunately weighed down with some unnecessary cheesy moments (see: Say Goodbye), overall Comatose is a fantastic album and one of the best modern rock albums of the last decade. |
