“Untitled had some incredible moments. At this point, I could see the band revealing that rtheir past two albums

Everything is Wrong is my hands down favorite Interpol song and I dont care how basic that sounds |
Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights | 4.5 |

Haunter (USA-TX) Thrinodía (Remixed & Remastered 2020) | 4.0 |
Love this band so much and their first album is made all the better with this release |

Napalm Death Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism | 3.5 |

forward based on my listen.
Edit: Okay |
Krallice Mass Cathexis | 3.5 |
I overrated this one hard, sorry guys. |
Honorary Astronaut EP001 | 0.5 |

Thou Tyrant | 5.0 |
Toby Driver and Nick Hudson Black Feather Under Your Tongue | 0.5 |
There was a time when I used to pretend to sorta get into this kind of thing but ugh. Awful. |
Cirith Ungol Forever Black | 3.4 |
Everything about this: the production, song structure, lyrical content, album cover, etc. is so old school in the most feel-good way. |
The Black Dahlia Murder Verminous | 2.5 |
Like, who tf cares anymore? |
Ulcerate Stare Into Death and Be Still | 3.9 |
The first Ulcerate album I don?t need to say “I enjoy it, but...” |

Blood Incantation Hidden History of the Human Race | 5.0 |
This is the best death metal album of the decade—full stop. |
FKA Twigs Magdalene | 4.0 |
File under ?albums I would predict Ali give a 4.5?. |
Joanna Newsom Have One on Me | 4.0 |
After nearly a decade I just noticed in that photo there?s a human an not just a pile of junk. |
Swans Leaving Meaning | 2.5 |
In 2017 we were left with the tantalizing prospect of ?Swans 3.0.? Leaving Meaning, though, feels very ?2010s Swans? albeit with less teeth. Songs like ?What is this?? are some of the most beautiful in their discography, but the more plodding and languid stretches of post-post-punk freak-folk hypnosis had me reaching for the skip button. |
My Bloody Valentine m b v | 4.0 |
Jonsi and Alex Lost and Found | 2.3 |
Weeping Sores False Confession | 4.0 |
The Number Twelve Looks Like You Wild Gods | 3.6 |
Pijn and Conjurer Curse These Metal Hands | 3.8 |
?High Spirits? reaffirms my belief in metal. |
Blut Aus Nord Hallucinogen | 3.5 |
MV3 is my favorite black metal album of all time (I know, right?) so hearing a bit of a return of it is, er, music to my
ears. Too bad the album art and name are so on the nose. |
Insomnium Heart Like a Grave | 3.0 |
?Pale Morning Star? is sick. |
Boris Love and Evol | 4.3 |
Lana Del Rey Norman Fucking Rockwell! | 4.5 |
Am I the only one who thinks that it’s weird this is the first album of hers to have a song called “California”? |
Taylor Swift Lover | 2.4 |
I have been happily listening to every Taylor Swift album since ?Red? and this is far and away the worse that I have yet to hear. |
Kayo Dot Blasphemy | 2.5 |
With each release, Kayo Dot inch away from being a great band with a few bad albums to a bad band with a few great albums. |
Wear Your Wounds Rust on the Gates of Heaven | 3.2 |
This is fine. |
Yellow Eyes Rare Field Ceiling | 3.8 |
State Faults Clairvoyant | 3.8 |
Me: “I haven’t listened to skramz since 2013 and Sputnik and its taste is terrible now so let’s shit on this.”

Hath Of Rot And Ruin | 2.9 |
This kind of sounds like Ulcerate covering The Black Dahlia Murder |
Lizzo Cuz I Love You | 2.3 |
“Body positivity” is something ugly people invented so they would have something to talk about on the Internet
other than “This Is Us” |
Dead To A Dying World Elegy | 4.0 |
Predictably lovely. |
Inter Arma Sulphur English | 3.5 |
Buckcherry Fuck | 0.5 |
Waste of Space Orchestra Syntheosis | 3.9 |
Vous Autres Champ du Sang | 3.5 |
Pissgrave Posthumous Humiliation | 2.3 |
This is...better? |
Periphery Periphery IV: Hail Stan | 0.5 |
I listened to this for about 10 minutes and it was sort of boring but not offensively so. |
Moon Tooth Crux | 3.5 |
Kidcrash Jokes | 4.1 |
This is on Spotify now and it?s still really good.
2021 update: yeah this is still great |
Destroyer Kaputt | 4.0 |
Took a long time for this to click but ooh boy. |
Laura Stevenson The Big Freeze | 4.1 |
“Baby Bones” but 30 minutes long. |
La Dispute Panorama | 3.9 |
“Can I still get into heaven if I like an album by a band that I absolutely hate?” |
Venom Prison Samsara | 3.5 |
Heavy for the sake of heaviness but sometimes that?s perfectly good enough |
American Football American Football (LP3) | 4.0 |
This could never have lived up to my hype but it is still wonderful in its own right. |
Contrarian Their Worm Never Dies | 2.0 |
This isn?t really good. If you like ?crazy? metal for the sake of craziness then it may have merit, but subjectively it?s mushy, samey noodling (with an objectively stupid title) |
Vanum Ageless Fire | 3.8 |
Ariana Grande Thank U, Next | 4.0 |
Beirut Gallipoli | 2.0 |
Krallice Wolf | 3.5 |
Ariana Grande Sweetener | 2.5 |

mewithoutYou [Untitled] | 3.0 |
Coheed and Cambria Vaxis I: The Unheavenly Creatures | 3.5 |
?Halo?? Mass Effect????? casual much????????????????????????rHe?s quoted as saying that Halo has directly influenced him which is actually v disappointing |
Toby Driver They Are the Shield | 4.0 |
I love nothing more than shitting on Tony Driver. For years we have had to deal with the stuffy and ostentatious ruination of Kayo Dot, as well as the adandonment motW and it really gets me going to point all of this out. HOWEVER, this album is just lovely. It?s beautiful and evocative while being surprisingly understated (in a way we are not accustomed from Driver). Best yet, it takes everything he?s done right in the last several years while getting rid of everything he has not. |
Manes Slow Motion Death Sequence | 3.5 |
SUMAC Love In Shadow | 3.6 |
While a lot of content could have been trimmed (that last 10 minutes of The Task for example), Sumac have done
a 180 and made an unexpectedly nuanced record. Compared to the oppressive density of “What One Becomes”
or the never-ending-noise that was their collab with Keiji Haino, “Love in Shadow” comes off as a light, and
almost melodious affair. |
Thou Heathen | 4.0 |
Thou Magus | 4.0 |
I wish Gameofmetal would post his review already so I can talk about this |
Rebel Wizard Voluptuous Worship of Rapture and Response | 4.2 |

The Body I have fought against it, But I can’t any longer | 3.5 |
Thou The House Primordial | 3.0 |
Thou Summit | 4.0 |
Voices Frightened | 3.3 |
This sort of sounds like a middle-late era Kayo Dot album. |
Grouper Grid of Points | 2.5 |
"I'd rather be sleeping" |
Sleep The Sciences | 3.8 |
Checking my cynicism at the door because this is good. |
Skeletal Remains Devouring Mortality | 2.7 |
Admittedly this is pretty fun but idk if I have it in me anymore to listen to ANOTHER album with a name like
“Devouring Mortality” from a band with a name like Skeletal Remains |
Cynic Focus | 4.5 |
A Perfect Circle Eat the Elephant | 2.9 |
Me: You can’t make a worse cover than “The Thirteenth Step”
A Perfect Circle: Hold my beer. |

Hop Along Bark Your Head Off, Dog | 3.5 |
Panopticon The Scars of Man on the Once Nameless Wilderness | 4.0 |
Black metal does not deserve Austin Lunn. |
Underoath Erase Me | 2.4 |
I know I?ve made this joke already but this is the best Linkin Park album in some time |
At the Gates To Drink from the Night Itself | 2.7 |
like a snake eating its tail, At the Gates’ influence on metalcore has come full circle with “To Drink from the Night
Itself” being the best album August Burns Red have ever made.
Edit: @Willie: I wish ;_; |
Rivers of Nihil Where Owls Know My Name | 2.5 |
Didn’t see what all the hype was about until the cleans came in at “A Home” then I remembered how basic you all

Cleric Retrocausal | 3.5 |
Slugdge Esoteric Malacology | 3.5 |
Between the Buried and Me Automata I | 2.9 |
The closest I have come to caring about a BTBAM album since that EP seven years ago (brevity suits this exhausting band). However, I do miss the days when the were a smart metalcore band rather than a dumb progressive one. |
Justin Timberlake Man of the Woods | 2.0 |
Watain Trident Wolf Eclipse | 2.5 |
Harakiri for the Sky Arson | 2.0 |
2018?s first bad album comes in the form of a black metal record with sadistically long songs that sound like a never ending stream of August Burns Red hooks and choruses. |
Pestilence Hadeon | 3.0 |
Over-simplified songwriting belies a profound understanding of how death metal can be both fun and catchy while still convincingly heavy. |
Chinese Football Here comes a new challenger! | 3.5 |
Chinese Football Chinese Football | 3.5 |

Bjork Utopia | 2.0 |
Summoning With Doom We Come | 3.3 |
Best album of 2018 so far. |
Krallice Go Be Forgotten | 4.2 |
Krallice's messiest and most flawed release to date may also be their best. |
In Flames Down, Wicked and No Good | 0.5 |
The hotter Anders gets the worse this band becomes. Not a good trade off imo. |
Taylor Swift Reputation | 3.8 |
Acid Witch Evil Sound Screamers | 3.3 |
Converge The Dusk in Us | 3.5 |
I feel like I?ve spent four years underrating this. |
Krallice Loüm | 3.5 |
Krallice have never sounded heavier or darker; this is the closest the band has ever come to a traditional metal aesthetic. |
Ne Obliviscaris Urn | 0.5 |
Ya?ll act like this is so groundbreaking when people have been using violins in music for over 400 years. |
Yellow Eyes Immersion Trench Reverie | 4.0 |
Bell Witch Mirror Reaper | 2.9 |
Spectral Voice Eroded Corridors of Unbeing | 3.5 |
This is good but c?mon you guys. |
St. Vincent Masseduction | 3.2 |
Enslaved E | 3.5 |
Actually really fun and I typically hate this sorta thing |
Spirit Adrift Curse of Conception | 3.5 |
Really surprised by this. |
Acephalix Decreation | 3.4 |
Fleet Foxes Crack-Up | 3.0 |
City of Caterpillar Driving Spain Up A Wall | 3.5 |
Miley Cyrus Younger Now | 3.0 |
I wanted to love this more but it loses steam half way through. Once you get to "Thinkin'" the album goes from "pretty great" to "pretty dull." Oh well at least the singles are good. |
Shadow Of Intent Reclaimer | 3.0 |
Sigh Imaginary Sonicscape | 4.0 |
Cradle of Filth Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness of Decay | 3.4 |
After making fun of this band for years without every actually listening to them I have to say I had fun. Kinda silly and dramatic but a lot more fun than it has any right to be. Reminds me of Sigh I suppose. |
Steven Wilson To the Bone | 2.0 |
God this is so lame. |
The Contortionist Clairvoyant | 2.3 |
Gave this an honest shot but it's sorta lame. Like, not offensively bad but just really, really, really lame in a Steven Wilson sort of "I like prog and have owned a fedora before" kind of way. |
Monarch (FRA) Never Forever | 2.5 |
I want to like this more than I actually like this. I just don't think I have the patience for this sort of thing anymore. |
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Luciferian Towers | 3.5 |
I was all set to hate this but after several spins it's got some of the bands most subtle and memorable moments ever |
Archspire Relentless Mutation | 2.3 |
There's so much about this to like: the production, the vocals, the exciting variation, etc. But I'm exhausted two songs in, much like their last album. It's an exercise in how much the listener can handle and I guess just fail. |
Blut Aus Nord Deus Salutis Meae | 3.3 |
Darker and weirder; more in line with the Odinist than anything else. Sounds distantly related to Deathspell Omega I guess. Basically, Saturnian Poetry this isn't. |
Mastodon Cold Dark Place | 2.9 |
Better than the last two albums, but even with just four songs this feels a little boring and overlong. |
Circa Survive The Amulet | 3.4 |
Circa Survive Blue Sky Noise | 4.8 |
I don't even like Circa Survive that well but this is still killer seven years later |
Cannabis Corpse Left Hand Pass | 3.7 |
The National Sleep Well Beast | 2.0 |
Stunning. Jaw to the floor. Absolutely in awe of how fucking boring this band is. If I had known that a beard and a
baritone could make so many guys this wet then I probably would have had a more interesting college
experience. |
Iron And Wine Beast Epic | 2.8 |
In a week that sees the release of Iron and Wine and Brand new, we're witnessing a showdown for the hearts and souls of boring 30 year old white guys everywhere. |
Brand New Science Fiction | 3.4 |
As someone with no emotional/nostalgia attachment to this band I have to say that this is a really good rock album. |
Incantation Profane Nexus | 3.5 |
Unpopular opinion: Incantation are at the height of their career. This combined with their last two records represents them at their best. |
Cormorant Diaspora | 4.2 |
Cormorant have checked my pretentious cynicism with an album I love, full of things I typically hate. Predictably awesome and a definite contender for one of the best metal records of the year. |
Afterbirth The Time Traveler's Dilemma | 4.1 |
The Blight Meditations on Insignificance | 2.9 |
Endon Through The Mirror | 3.5 |
Melvins A Walk With Love And Death | 2.5 |
I like to pretend I like weird noise experiments but Love makes me front the bill for my posturing. |
Jute Gyte Oviri | 3.1 |
It's like that moment at a buffet where you crossed the line and you're too full to finish what's on your plate. That's how I feel about Jute Gyte--after years of feasting on insane proclivity I think I am nearing my satiety. "Oviri" is different enough to be satisfying but not that satisfying. |
Coldplay Kaleidoscope | 2.2 |
Are we really doing this? |
Radiohead OKNOTOK 1997-2017 | 4.5 |
Rating this so highly because it's been almost 10 years since Radiohead released a good album so maybe I'm just hungry for them not to be bad anymore. |
Impetuous Ritual Blight Upon Martyred Sentience | 2.3 |
Ravishingly pumped for this, listened once, then forgot it existed until I saw a review posted if that tells you anything. |
Decapitated Anticult | 3.3 |
Better than it has any right to be given that the band has only released one good album (and that was like 15 years ago). Also the title, cover, and lyrical content are dumb. Still it's a good enough time. |
Manchester Orchestra A Black Mile to the Surface | 3.3 |
I'm not a big Manchester Orchestra fan but "The Gold" was/is a 5/5 song for me and "The Alien" was
pretty cool too so I was pumped for this. Well it's mostly a snooze-fest and I should have checked
my enthusiasm. "The Wolf," "Lead, SD," "The Mistake," and "The Silence" are all really forgettable
which is too bad because ~aesthetically~ this is the most interesting and distinctive the band has
ever sounded. "The Parts" could easily be a Right Away, Great Captain! song so that's great I
suppose. |
Katy Perry Witness | 2.0 |
Elder (USA-MA) Reflections of a Floating World | 3.7 |
Typically the cynic when it comes to trendy metal like this but this is great. |
Loss Horizonless | 3.5 |
Last album was such a hidden gem back in 2011. Although they missed the doom bubble of the past few years, "Horizonless" is still relevant, and a total a joy. |
Oxbow Thin Black Duke | 3.8 |
Do Make Say Think Stubborn Persistent Illusions | 3.8 |
Natalia Lafourcade Musas | 3.5 |
Paramore After Laughter | 2.3 |
C'mon you guys |
Obituary Obituary | 3.0 |
The best Obituary album since the early 90s but to be honest that's a low bar to clear. |
Svart Crown Abreaction | 3.0 |
100% agree with Willie. |
Slowdive Slowdive (LP) | 4.0 |
V good. |
A Lot Like Birds DIVISI | 2.0 |

Suffocation …Of the Dark Light | 2.3 |
"Remember how good Pierced From Within was? Remember? Do you??" said Eli, huddled in a corner, staring a the walls. |

It's the Radiohead album I thought I always wanted until I got it. |
American Football American Football (LP2) | 4.0 |
Average for this sucks. |
Mount Eerie A Crow Looked At Me | 2.0 |
Phrenelith Desolate Endscape | 3.4 |
Artificial Brain Infrared Horizon | 4.0 |
While there are some moments that literally seem copy/pasted from their debut, there's enough twists ("Static rShattering" could be a Krallice song) to make it interesting enough to stand on its own. It's a darker and heavier ralbum but still a lot of fun. |
Ulver The Assassination of Julius Caesar | 2.7 |
I felt like I was listening to a post-punk playlist at a gay bar. |
Dodecahedron Kwintessens | 2.4 |
Loud and dark death metal with some black sensibilities. In the five years since their debut this Deathspell fellating style as proliferates the scene; an indulgent sound that's caused eye rolls amongst even the most devout fans. It's still a fine album but is it fine enough to standout amongst the bustling crowd, especially when others do it much better? Probably not. |
Sunless Urraca | 3.0 |
Prolly would have been more impressive five years ago before this style became so overharvested. Still it's uncommonly good for a generic bandcamp release. |
Immolation Here in After | 4.0 |
Immolation Atonement | 3.8 |
Ironomi niji | 4.0 |

I'll probably never listen to this again but my experience was still fun and enjoyable nonetheless |
Krypts Remnants of Expansion | 2.5 |
Mithras On Strange Loops | 4.0 |
August 2016: "proggy death whatever? Avoid."rNovember 2016: "well shit."r |
Vermin Womb Decline | 3.0 |
Loud and fast music with a grimy production. Would be cool if you hadn't heard 1000 incarnations of this band already. |
Anaal Nathrakh The Whole of the Law | 2.0 |
Annoying band. |
Dead Congregation Sombre Doom | 3.5 |
I wasn't huge of Dead Congregation's last album because I'm not that huge on Dead Congregation in general. The homogenous pummeling take on dm grows tiring pretty quickly. But their doom-y foray here is really nice. Wrapped into a great 13-minute package, the EP is just enough DC without it overstaying it's welcome. [3.3] |
Auroch Mute Books | 3.0 |
Lady Gaga Joanne | 1.5 |
Mono Requiem For Hell | 1.5 |
Ulcerate Shrines of Paralysis | 3.5 |
If you don't mind listening to "Everything Is Fire" v.1.4 then you're going to enjoy another slab of atmospheric death metal from the best in the game. |
Sonata Arctica The Ninth Hour | 1.0 |
I'm constantly impressed by this band, which can produce such consistent 1/5 albums throughout their career |
Bon Iver 22, A Million | 3.5 |
Meshuggah The Violent Sleep Of Reason | 2.0 |
It's hard defending Meshuggah half the time becuase so many of their attributes are almost objectively bad. For those who enjoy them, like me, it's easy to look past the inherent monotony of their music. There's a meditative property to their swirling madness that makes it worth it. "Koloss" traded this in for tighter songwriting whereas "Catch Thirty-three" wholly embraced it. "Obzen" blended both sides to near perfection.r"The Violent Sleep of Reason," however, is the worst parts of Meshuggah in album form. It's boring. It's homogeneous. It's uneventful. After a week of listening only "MonstroCity" stands out, and that's only because it has the dumbest song title I've ever heard.rDisappointing but not surprisingly so. Meshuggah has always been this lame but they have always made up for it with a smooth and cool sound. Here it's just not enough. |
Neurosis Fires Within Fires | 3.3 |
Classic, by the numbers Neurosis but not in the way that made "Honor Found in Decay" so lame. |
The Dear Hunter Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional | 2.0 |
B sides of an average album makes for a terrible one |
An Autumn For Crippled Children Eternal | 2.0 |
Band perpetually puts out 3's but the pretty cover art and font style make me want to check this despite knowing that I probably won't care |
The Dear Hunter Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise | 2.5 |
Norma Jean Polar Similar | 2.5 |
Jute Gyte Perdurance | 3.5 |
Insomnium Winter's Gate | 3.7 |
Never cared too much for Insomnium (or melodeath in general) but this was a hell of a great listening experience. rI've always scoffed at the great heights of their albums and passed them off as typical Finnish melodrama. But rhere there is a lot of intelligent restraint and admirable maturity. It's a 40 minute nonstop track but there's an rimmense amount of content that spans a lot of styles. It's really theatrical and dramatic death metal that's often rtimes staggeringly beautiful.r3.7 |
Inquisition Bloodshed Across The Empyrean Altar... | 4.0 |
basal simplicity belies a startlingly atmospheric and compulsively listenable metal album |
Mare Cognitum Luminiferous Aether | 3.5 |
I've come to hate "atmospheric black metal" since it's all made of the same husk but with different padding. Mare Cognitum always impresses with a great understanding of what makes the subgenre work. He's always showing a surprising amount of restraint that--even when a song is stretching past the 12-minute mark--makes the piece feel like a logical whole made up of necessary parts. Luminiferous Aether is solid, modern atmospheric black metal from one hell of a savvy musician. |
Oranssi Pazuzu Värähtelijä | 3.5 |
P gr8. |
Suffocation Pierced from Within | 4.0 |
Sigh Scenes from Hell | 4.0 |
Panopticon Revisions of the Past | 3.5 |
Most important one man black metal artist around (which is surprisingly a big field) drops music for the third year in a row. Great teamsters of his most looked over albums. Yadda yadda get it. |
Russian Circles Guidance | 3.0 |
I should dislike this more than I do but the time I've spent with it has been lovely |
Ghoulgotha To Starve the Cross | 2.5 |
Zhrine Unortheta | 3.0 |
This year's most derivative metal record is also the most instantly gratifying. Pretty easy to spin and enjoy in any mood or scenario. |
Obscura Akróasis | 3.0 |
Not a fan of hyper clean tech death but for some reason this is fun to throw on in the background. Okay stuff. |
Vanhelgd Temple of Phobos | 3.0 |

Howls of Ebb Cursus Impasse: The Pendlomic Vows | 4.2 |
If you have enjoyed this band in the past (which you should, as they're one of the most fascinating death metal acts currently making music) then you'll find a lot to love here. Their second record takes the infernal psychedlia of "The Marrow Veil" and packages it in a manner more like their debut, with palatable songs and more standard structure. It's a tightened and condensed version of last years EP, albeit without the boundary pushing presentation. Still, it's an excellent slab of death metal that everyone, especially fans, should check out. |

Eternal Valley Ascend To The Unknown | 3.4 |
I usually avoid anything tagged "atmospheric black metal" because it's the same regurgitated shit over and over again. This isn't really any different, but it hits a real sweet spot sounding decidedly modern yet steeped in retro synths and production. Worth checking out. |

Pissgrave Suicide Euphoria | 2.2 |
Without the shocking name and cover art this album is an embarrassingly transparent and juvenile attempt at "raw" and "brutal" death metal. I'm sure some people will eat up the blatant perversion that the band employs but they're really just a bunch of guys trying too hard. |

How many sweeps and lame lines of Rody's power metal vocals will it take for me to finally give up on this band? As the years pass the more it becomes apparent that Kezia was a fluke. |

Protest the Hero Scurrilous | 2.5 |
Oh baby I tried, hell, I even lied to myself by giving this a higher rating. Regardless, this is not the band I fell in love with on Kezia, nor is it the mature, refined group of young men I admired on Fortress. They stripped away everything that made them such an intelligent and fun band, and instead created a vapid, uninteresting album full of terrible, terrible lyrics, and copy/pasted pieces from their other works. Scurrilous is boring, poorly thought out, and carelessly written; the definition of a disappointment. |

The Mars Volta Noctourniquet | 3.5 |
Sure they've made some questionable choices in the past, but The Mars Volta are always able to make something fresh and interesting. While many will argue how this ranks among their discography, in the end it won't matter because as always, it's unlike any other album in their fucking discography. |

People need to stop saying Chris Pennie is this band's saving grace. It's ridiculous. The drumming is noticeably better, no more, no less. It takes away from the band and all of their accomplishments stop being tools.
Solid album, very accessible. Really didn't care for NMFT but this is really great. |

La Dispute Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair | 2.5 |
I wish I had something clever to say about this album. However, I do not. Simply, this is boring boring boring, which is a shame because this band really is incredible. |
La Dispute Wildlife | 1.5 |
If I was told that I only had an hour to live i'd spend it listening to Wildlife, because listening to it feels like an eternity. |
Touche Amore ...To the Beat of a Dead Horse | 3.5 |
Touche Amore Parting The Sea Between Brightness And Me | 3.0 |
It's more melodic and easily more poetic, but it lacks the overall energy that was so palpable on their 2009 effort. Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me is a great record that plays up the band's strengths, but after awhile it all begins to feel a bit 'samey,' and regretfully uninspired. |

If I had to pick one band that is doing the least in progressing the genre, it would be a close race between rExplosions in the Sky and Mono. But what Mono lacks in originality (this is the exact same album they've rreleased over and over again) they make up for with their dramatic and emotive delivery. Bland, uninspired, rand derivative, "For My Parents" isn't going to change anyone's opinions on this band, but am I a sucker for rdem climaxes. |
