Secret Band Secret Band3.5
"Secret Band's" first full length effort is an experience. From the killer riffage from the very reliable Will Swan, to
the blaring drumming from Matt Mingus, to Jon Mess's nonsensical lyricism and consistent howling. While far
from being consistent, and Jon Mess as a musician is somewhat of an acquired taste, "Secret Band" is a strange
beast that deserves to be listened to for all who know what they're getting themselves into.

More like ChiodNO. Or Chodeios. Yeah. Chode. Fuck this band and fuck Craig Owens.
The Hotelier Home, Like NoPlace Is There3.0
What would have been a wonderfully emotional record, 'Home, Like NoPlace Is There" is instead bogged down by an at time, terrible vocal performance that becomes too noticeable to ignore. The instrumentation is somewhat simple yet very effective however. While the end result left me rather mixed; I do recommend anybody interested to give this album a listen.
Issues Issues1.0
This album is just cringe worthy from start to finish
Sun Kil Moon Benji2.0
While I wouldn't call "Benji" a bad album, it's still a somewhat tepid album that gets to be rather repetitive quick.
While I can appreciate how personal "Benji" is, I just could not give a shit, a thought that really killed this for me.

Death Grips Government Plates3.5
Protest the Hero Volition4.0
A Lot Like Birds No Place5.0
"No Place" manages to dive deep with me, even on its sheer concept alone. As someone who struggles with connection, especially to a place called home do to my somewhat mobile childhood, A Lot Like Bird's third LP is rather relatable to me, as the entire album is about the struggles of home. It also helps that musically A Lot Like Birds does nothing but impress.

It's very easy to get lost while listening to "Immunity". Jon Hopkins crafted one hell of an atmospheric experience from start to finish; and I would gladly wonder forever within this record.

The Chariot's (sadly) last record goes out with a fucking bang. "One Wing" is the bands most diverse and powerful release, which makes the fact that The Chariot are no more sting even more. "One Wing" may be one of the most beautiful yet cathartic Swan Songs recorded.

i honestly don't know how this album makes me feel, and in this case I'm actually considering it a good thing.
"Desperate Living" is, when all is said and done, a good album. However it's like listening to a muppet have a
temper tantrum while a mixture of metal and a SNES soundtrack play in the background.

To call The Mars Volta a bad group would honestly be very much a lie, as there is no denying that every member involved is immensely talented; with that in mind "Bedlam in Goliath" is a progressive and aggressive, while also being pretty exhausting to listen to in one sitting.

Three Days Grace One-X1.0
Three Days Grace prove they're just another forgettable mainstream rock group.
Bomb the Music Industry! Goodbye Cool World!5.0
Jeff Rosenstock for president until the heat death of the universe. Goodbye Cool World is just too fun to ignore
Red Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadium2.5
There are album that are bogged down with filler tracks, and then there's Stadium Arcadium; a double album that
while it has its fair share of really great tracks, is countered by the fact that the album has an exhausting amount
of songs that just come off as anywhere from pointless while still listenable, to straight up bad.

Isis Panopticon4.5
Truth time children! I'm not a big Post Metal fan. It's not that I dislike the genre, I admitingly have a difficult time sitting through long songs. However, Isis managed to make not only one of my favourite gems from the genre, but one of my favourite albums period.
The Blood Brothers Crimes3.5
Pig Destroyer Terrifyer4.0
Converge You Fail Me4.5
Green Day American Idiot2.0
Green Day completely sell their souls with American Idiot, and lose any genuine angst they might have had in the past in the process. Every song on this album comes off as overly whiny (any single released off this record) or just forced altogether, especially the political messages Green Day attempted to cram into this mess of an album.

1999
New Found Glory Nothing Gold Can Stay3.5
Yes, this album has really subpar production. And Yes, this album can be downright immature, but there's something about New Found Glory's first album that I can't help but enjoy. While the production is still iffy, it also gives "Nothing Gold Can Stay" a nice raw vibe to it; plus this is just a catchy as hell record. A fine start to a band that ended up being poster boys for their genre.
