Birds in Row Personal War4.5
Totem Skin Weltschmerz4.0
Heart of a Coward Deliverance4.0
Could use a lot more variation in the song structure, but great release anyway. Mouth of Madness is especially good.
Fit for an Autopsy Absolute Hope Absolute Hell4.0
Swing The Axe is epic. Album's pretty vicious overall. Thought I'd never like it, but this is exceptional deathcore. Wish this bro wouldn't be so averse to positive thinking, but I'm glad he wrote this.
Parkway Drive Ire3.5
Won't be less than a 3.5. Just listened to Fractures and Bottom Feeder. Fractures is a great track and Bottom Feeder is hilariously sophmoric but also pretty tight and will definitely play before wrestling matches.rYeah, definitely a solid 3.5. Dedicated crushes. Love Writing on the Walls as the pop song for kids that it is. Vicious and A Deathless Song are great as well.
Atreyu Long Live4.0
The harsh vocals are hard to endure because the vocalist clearly blows at this point, but aside from that, this is simply a phenomenal rock metal record. Moments Before Dawn, Do you know who you are?, and a bitter broken memory are pretty decent.
King 810 Midwest Monsters 23.0
Bring Me the Horizon That's the Spirit1.5
Defeater Abandoned4.5
Shocked to see the response of this, though maybe I shouldn't be. Was seriously disappointed by the singles, and overall was opposed to the continuation of the concept. But after listening to the album, the singles fit perfectly into place although they are still among the worst tracks on the album. To me, this is an emotional masterpiece. Love the religious concept. Awesomely relatable on a fundamental human level, documenting internal struggle at its most basic and extreme. Swept me up from start to finish. I have one complaint, which I've seen echoed here already many times which is that the lyrics get repeated 10 too many times on just about every song. If it weren't for this, this'd be an easy 5 for me. As it is, I'll be blasting many of these for years to come, with Divination and Vice and Regret being my favorites, but Borrowed and Blue, Atonement, and Remorse not far behind. As far as the story itself, slightly disheartening the way it ends just from the perspective of relating to the singer. Seems like he's one step away from finding the solace he wants but as evidence by the fact that "Glory Be" is the most positive the ending manages, not quite there yet. Seems like a song titled "Self-Reflection" is all that's missing in that regard. Amen to this album though.
The Devil Wears Prada Space4.0
Bullet for My Valentine Venom3.5
Dr. Dre Compton3.5
Miss May I Deathless4.0
This is the best album Miss May I has released in my opinion. Certainly miles better than the last two. Its of course not taking many steps out of the box, but its far more varied than their recent efforts. Neff's cleans have gone from unbearable to actually decent enough for the hooks to succeed extraordinarily well on some songs, despite the fact that I doubt he can pull it off live. But with AILD gone, this is definitely an album to check out for anyone into fun and simple aggressive metalcore. Honestly at this point, it may not be saying much, but I think this album is the best of its kind.

The Artificial is the best track with Deathless and Bastards Left Behind being next.
Internal Conflict The Rising Tide4.0
Comeback Kid goes metalcore Comeback Kid goes metalcore Comeback Kid comes back some more - with songs that are two minutes too long
Between the Buried and Me Coma Ecliptic2.0
Cannot get into this band at all. May be due to my lack of playing an instrument, but sounds like this band is just trying to impress me with their musicianship, but it just sounds like shit. And worse, it seems like they could actually make music that sounded good if they weren't so hellbent on trying to show their musical talents off.
Phinehas Till the End4.5
Contender for metalcore album of the year. My favorites are Forever West and Till the End, but this album is gold from start to finish, though the three interludes are pointless as fuck. Dead Choir and Tetelestai, the two singles, are by far the least interesting tracks. Seven shakes it up and serves as an excellent building track, starting quieter and building to a more climactic finish.
August Burns Red Found in Far Away Places4.5
The lyrics on this and all of ABR's discography paint a pretty awesomely enlightened perspective of Christianity. Philosophically very sweet. Musically, even better. Martyrs brings the fire, and countless others kick ass as well. The interludes are also sensational, but honestly I would've preferred slightly shorter ones, especially on the later tracks. Broken Promises and Vanguard are two awesome tracks that would've been even sicker with a bit less instrumental, and a bit more vocals. But that's my opinion. Overall, outstanding effort from one of the best bands in the game.
Breaking Benjamin Dark Before Dawn3.5
Have never listened to a BB record straight through before... definitely hilarious. So repetitive. Probably won't be listening to anything on this many more times, but I really couldn't have expected any better. And Close to Heaven even sounds different.

Well played Benjamin Burnley, well played.
Hundredth Free4.0
This album definitely suffers from its overall sound being a bit soft. Unravel, Isolation, Beggar, and Daze all sound remarkably similar and seem to be the sound they wanted to refine this time, but it doesn't work all that well for me. And all those songs are among the worst the album has. But standouts, especially Burdens, end up making this one of my favorite hardcore releases of the year anyway.
Young Guns Ones and Zeros2.0
Muse Drones2.0
I the Mighty Connector4.5
Pretty ridiculously refreshing. Its extremely rare that I'm drawn to an album like this, but this really kills. Combines pop elements pretty flawlessly with progression and sporadic aggression. Album is super consistent as well. Too tough for me to really pick my top tracks, but Psychomachia and The Frame I are definitely two of them
Of Virtue Salvation4.5
Paradise Lost The Plague Within4.5
Not a bad track on here until the last few, first six tracks are all bigtime winners, and then it closes hard with Return To the Sun. Definitely very sick.
Make Them Suffer Old Souls4.0
Silverstein I Am Alive In Everything I Touch4.0
Haste the Day Coward4.0
Haste The Day have taken a massive progressive step away from metalcore, which means for me, its not as good as Wolf King, but that would've been ridiculous. Its just too sludgy for my taste. But when they do go straight metalcore (Accept), its fucking dope. And when they don't, its still dope. The riffs are real hard - not as adrenaline-pumping as AOFTWK for me, but they're hard.

Love the vocals. The variance between Jimmy, Stephen, and Brennan's voices is just pretty awesome. Though I definitely would've preferred if Stephen did a bit more clean vocal work in the choruses, though he does a fair amount I guess.

Shadow, Accept, and Secret are hard standouts for me.
Earth Caller Degenerate3.5
While there's certainly room for improvement, this is a great hardcore release. Simple and to the point. Lyrics
are incredibly colloquial at times but it works for me. Anyone looking for some rap influenced hardcore should
find this right up their ally. The inspirational vibe doesn't hurt either.

And don't be hindered by the underwhelming first few tracks. They're the worst ones. Album picks up with The
Faceless King, and Degenerate and Exile, Exist which are the last two full tracks are the best the album has to
offer.
From First to Last Dead Trees2.5
Actually sounds really good at times, but its pretty hard to get around how annoying it is - mostly due to exaggerated emotional vocals and ridiculously immature lyrics and then just how high Spencer's voice is.
Three Days Grace Human1.5
Super weak and uninspired. Very catchy, but the lyrics are laughable and the amount of repetition is embarrassing.
Hollywood Undead Day of the Dead3.0
Let's start out by saying Hollywood Undead is a joke. Let's also say that some of the songs on this album are absolute pop garbage. But now let's also appreciate that War Child will get all the ladies wet, and I'd far rather listen to it than any other dance song. And then let's just admire the good humor of a line like "I get more pussy than a bowl of friskies." Low quality? Yes. Surprisingly enjoyable? Yes. And its very catchy. What makes this album work a bit better for me is the seeming understanding of the band that they're a joke. The poserness is way down.

Tracks to hear: Day of the Dead, War Child, Dark Places, Take Me Home, Does Everybody Have to Die?, Party by Myself, Guzzle Guzzle, Let Go
Antagonist A.D. Haunt Me As I Roam4.0
While She Sleeps Brainwashed5.0
I just can't not 5 it.

Your Evolution, Brainwashed, Our Legacy, Four Walls, Torment, Trophies of Violence, Method in Madness, Modern Minds... holy shit.

There's nothing as devastating as Dead Behind the Eyes, but they've upped their game once again. This shit crushes.
Kendrick Lamar To Pimp a Butterfly3.5
Can't get into the jazz feel, but respect everywhere. Feel bad giving this only a 3.5, but the sound just isn't much for me aside from a few tracks. But I'm so happy this came out of the rap game.
Darke Complex Widow4.5
This is probably the single most inventive EP I've ever heard. There's nothing like these guys around. Its unexpected and ridiculously well-executed. Needs to be heard.
Purity Ring Another Eternity2.0
All That Remains The Order of Things1.0
Album sounds like the soundtrack to power rangers.

Its not that I was expecting The Fall of Ideals. Its that this album is literally a joke. A bigger joke than the pop albums of today. There's so many parts of this that are laughable. If this was genuine, I'd like it. It sounds great sometimes. But its just a joke. When he says "desperate times require desperate measures now" in fiat empire for example, clearly just bent the lyrics to fit the melodic structure of the song. It doesn't even fit. And I thought that song sounded great overall. But the whole album is just such a fake piece of garbage. This was Phil stimulating his ego and nothing more. That's why it sucks.

A reason for me to fight and fiat empire are like the catchiest thing ever to me. The problem was not the music (well, it was, but...), the problem was its apparent lack of sincerity. Not the face to face lying kind, but the kind like a teenager struggling to hide from themselves in a disorderly attachment to a false sense of pride.
Falling in Reverse Just Like You3.5
Hate him all you want, Ronnie's an honest motherfucker and he's got game. Way better than all his past shit. And with a mother who abandoned him, and a brother recently killed, give him credit where credit is due. He keeps moving forward.
Red (USA) Of Beauty and Rage3.5
Really good album. Definitely a comeback. Feel like I've outgrown them a bit though. Really repetitive at times - like there's almost always a heavy bridge with some occasionally misplaced screaming. Also, vocals are off-melody too often. Still, definitely some interesting songs. Of These Chains is the best slow song they've ever done, in my opinion. The Darkest Part is a great single. Take Me Over is a great poppy track. Gravity Lies and Falling Sky are pretty good, and The Ever is the best track on the album.

The string use is pretty dank all over this.
Feed Her to the Sharks Fortitude3.0
Stick to Your Guns Disobedient4.0
My favorite band for a reason. Missing the heavy feel of the Bond, Such Pain, and Life in a box, but it brings so much more to the table.
Hellions Indian Summer4.0
Album's real as fuck. Ghoul kicks fucking ass. But it doesn't stop there.
Marilyn Manson The Pale Emperor3.5
Raised Fist From the North3.5
Sylosis Dormant Heart4.0

2014
The Ghost Inside Dear Youth4.5
Dudes hit the heart - better than anyone. Album crushes, it makes you want to fist pump, it makes you want to lift, it makes you want to cry sweetly, and it makes you want to strive for better. Love this band and what they stand for.rOut of Control is the poppiest track. Phoenix Flame is the soft track. Wide-Eyed is a bit different with the guest spot from Butler of Letlive, though its not my style. Mercy is the crusher. The Other Halfnote is an emotional crusher. rStandouts: Avalanche, With the Wolves, Mercy, Phoenix Flame, The Other Half.rMy album of the year, but I guess that's no surprise coming from me, so check it out yourself.
Devil Sold His Soul Belong/Betray4.0
Machine Head Bloodstone and Diamonds4.0
There's no doubt there's a couple misses on this album - mostly when they're trying to experiment - most notably Damage Inside, and there's a couple others that fall flat. But there's no beaster vocalist than Flynn, and the guitar and bass are sweet in many spots. Sail Into the Black, In Comes the Flood, Game Over, and Take Me Through the Fire are awesome tracks.
Hand of Mercy Resolve4.0
Kingdom of Giants Ground Culture3.5
Slipknot .5: The Gray Chapter3.0
Gideon Calloused4.0
Hardcore as fuck. The cleans could be better at times, but that's to be expected from a band like this and they occasionally hit the spot. Catchy as hell. Savage is a standout straight hardcore track with purely harsh vocals. The Pulse is a soothing instrumental that serves as a nice calm within the storm. Calloused, World of Hurt, and The Limit kick ass and some nice cleans mix em up.
Thera For Someone, Somewhere4.5
Pick this shit up unless you like eating monkey feces. But still do anyway.rAncient Mariner bitches.
Moanaa Descent3.5
No Bragging Rights The Concrete Flower4.0
Without a doubt, in my top 5 albums of the year. The singles do not do this album justice. Just listen to the first two tracks, and you'll know. Strength Through Struggle and The Concrete Struggle come out da gate with a fucking vengeance. The lyrics are pure inspiration. Other dope tracks include Downhearted and Right Minded, which brings the rage. Do yourself a favor, and make yourself a better, stronger person, and go check out this album.
Affiance Blackout4.0
Blackout and Midnight rock. Vocalist kills. Album crushes.
Flyleaf Between the Stars1.5
Obey the Brave Salvation3.0
Texas in July Bloodwork4.0
Motionless in White Reincarnate4.0
MIW has clearly matured on this effort. Miles above Infamous, and better than Creatures in my opinion as well.rEverybody Sells Cocaine, Break the Cycle, Generation Lost, and Carry the Torch are great songs.
In Flames Siren Charms3.0
Its not melodeath, or heavy In Flames, but it is still In Flames. The biggest problem with the album is the often uninteresting verses, which have been taken over by the mainstream sound, but the songs are still very well-written and polished. With Eyes Wide Open is a standout for me. Also, I'm feeling like this album is gonna grow bigtime on me given that I hated the singles at first, but I kinda dig them now. Except Rusted Nail's verses blow dick. But if you can get over the fact that the band your listening to released Colony back in the day, then its still a good album.
Thousand Foot Krutch Oxygen: Inhale1.0
Yeah, that's right. A straight fucking one for this piece of shit. Probably the simplest, most uninspired album I've heard of the year, and definitely the pussiest. All shitty pop ballads basically with the exception of a few straight forward below average rock songs. Hard to describe how much this blows - couldn't even really sit through the whole thing. Had to skip a few parts of some songs. It really sucks that bad.
Heartist Feeding Fiction4.5
Album of the Year for me so far. Every song sounds like a dope single. So catchy, so fun. First Wovenwar, now this. Two decently heavy bands sticking primarily to clean vocals. Awesome. Seriously check this out. If you're looking for heavier tracks, try Set Me Free, Demons, Legacy, and Manipulate. If you're looking for softer, poppier tracks, check out Ready to Change and Skeletons. And that's not even counting other phenomenal tracks like Pressure Point.
Upon a Burning Body The World Is My Enemy Now4.0
Album will get mad hate probably, but its heavy as fuck as far as I'm concerned. After hearing the album, its almost like the band intentionally pulled the stupid stunt to breed additional hatred for them so their lyrics were more applicable. Probably not true, but whatever. I personally love the singles Red Razor Wrists and Scars. Judgement fucking kills too. Fountain of Wishes, The New Breed, and Middle Finger to the World are pretty dope too. Blood, Sweat, and Tears is decent too, though the cleans don't fit the sound too much. But not even close to the atrocity that is Telle's feature on I've Earned My Time. Cleans sound so off with the music its ridiculous. But overall, I fucking dig it.
No Sin Evades His Gaze Age of Sedation4.5
Capture Reign of Terror3.0
Vast improvement, in my opinion. kind've a fan of Beating the blade and firestarter.
Darkest Hour Darkest Hour3.5
Wovenwar Wovenwar4.0
This album is what I've been waiting for since I got into metal - basically very good metalcore instrumentals with all clean vocal singing. This album delivers basically everything I've waited so long for - the problem is that its missing a little bit of intensity. It needs the occasional scream, which Blay could easily provide. Josh could easily add some additional zest to the band's sound if his vox were utilized more frequently, and were intermixed with Blay's - instead, only one of them is being used at a time (Josh is basically only used for the chorus of Prophets and the entire song Matter of Time). Where Josh is used provides some of the strongest moments of the album. My only other complaint is that there isn't a lot of atmosphere, or builds. rHighlights: Matter of Time, Prophets, Profane, Father/Son, Identity, Death to Rights
Ill Nino Till Death, La Familia3.0
Rise Against The Black Market2.5
Decent album and one of those that I feel like I might like a few years down the road, but my angsty self of today has this to say: "Pussy"
Chelsea Grin Ashes To Ashes3.0
Sonic Syndicate Sonic Syndicate2.5
Nothing More Nothing More4.5
One of the best albums I've heard in a long time. Friendly Fire, Jenny, and God Went North are so fucking good.
For All Those Sleeping Incomplete Me2.5
Crosses, Red, and My Funeral are really good tracks. The same cannot be said for the rest of the album.
The Antlers Familiars1.5
This might be beautifully put together, but the fact is that it doesn't come close to capturing the emotional power of a song like The Kettering at any point. It is unbearably bland and homogenous in my opinion. Can't believe I even managed to listen to the whole thing. This is honestly one of the most underwhelming albums I've ever heard in my life. Musicianship aside, this fucking sucks.
Expire Pretty Low3.5
Album is pretty similar to Pendulum Swings. Very catchy crunchy dope ass riffage but still incredibly 'in the box.' Band would serve itself really well to do a little experimentation next time around.
Vanna Void3.5
Linkin Park The Hunting Party4.0
It may not be awesome or even close to as heavy as it was cracked out to be, but All For Nothing is my favorite
track they've done in a long time and Keys to the Kingdom and Line in the Sand are other great tracks.

Edit: Album is a for sure grower. Line in the Sand is fucking dope as all fuck.
The Word Alive Real.4.0
The singles were just not good - terrible choices. This album is miles better than Life Cycles. The guitar is so so much better, and Telle goes all out a bunch of times in a good way. Some not so great songs for sure, starting with the singles Broken Circuit and Never Forget, along with Lighthouse and Glass Castle which are by far the worst tracks. That gets more than made up for though with some really high quality tracks. Great synth work, great guitar, great vocals. rTop Tracks: The Fortune Teller, 94th St, Your Mirage, Terminal, The Runaway, Collapsing
Arch Enemy War Eternal3.5
Wolves at the Gate VxV4.5
This album is the fucking shit. So dope. Mother fuckers straight-up know how to jam for jesus. Worst tracks
are East and West and Relief which are still good. All the others are so good though. I haven't heard Wake Up
though I think due to download.

But now I have, and it rules too.

Been listening on repeat - its just so fucking good - Rest is my song of the year so far.
Beartooth Disgusting4.5
This album fucking kicks ass. Caleb's performance is unbelievable and every song basically has a catchy awesome chorus. Its too bad the instrumentals aren't on par with Caleb but the album is dope nonetheless. Not a bad track on here.
The Amity Affliction Let the Ocean Take Me3.5
Lost & Fading, Death's Head, and Give it All fucking own. I've been shitting on this band for having crappy harsh vocal verses, but this album totally shut me up.
Nightmares Suspiria3.0
Album has some very interesting tracks - Carnival of Souls and Enter the Void are particularly captivating. Too bad even those aren't good the whole time. Just cool moments.
Bury Tomorrow Runes3.5
The Primrose Path A History In 9 Parts2.5
Bane Don't Wait Up4.0
I've never been much good at saying goodbye - goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye - Epic. rTop tracks: Final Backwards Glance, Wrong Planet, Calling Hours
Epica The Quantum Enigma4.5
Wow, is what I have to say about this album. Epica seriously brings the 'Epic' this time around. On top of the great single Unchain Utopia, the entire second half of the albums stands out as well as track 2, The Second Stone. I think Omen takes the cake as my top track though - just seriously fucking epic. One of the best, if not the best, symphonic metal albums I've heard.
Killer Be Killed Killer Be Killed3.0
Being as an Ocean How We Both Wondrously Perish2.5
Sea of Trees Envision3.5
This album is definitely worth checking out. Great vocals and just a refreshing approach to metal overall. Bare is my favorite track, but 3,000, Envision, Workaholic, and Coward are also definitely great tracks as well. Better to listen to the whole thing though - I was very surprised at how good this was.
In Hearts Wake Earthwalker4.0
Divine is not the only standout track... Gaia may only be a minute long, but it is an outstanding introduction to the title track, which carries the momentum forward and is arguably just as good as Divine. Sacred is another moderately strong track with a beautiful chorus, but the next two tracks really solidify the album as superb for me. Gravity and Healer are two of the best, and most refreshing, post-hardcore songs I've heard in a longtime. Gravity's verses are solid and it has a captivating clean vocal chorus, meanwhile, Healer has simply beautiful instrumentals with a riveting harsh vocal chorus and is, to me, the best song on the album. The band even busts out some intense gang vocals and a hardcore almost raplike section as well. Rebirth soothes the waters so to speak and is another great instrumental track. With Afterglow, the album picks up right where it left off. It has a cool opening riff and another outstanding harsh vocal chorus, preceded by small sections of cleans in the verses. Truenorth also has a pretty nifty background riff, and though it isn't one of album's top songs, it still stands on its own as another solid track. The album closes (non-instrumentally) with Wildflower, which is an almost purely clean vocal track and a great one. It builds to a climax when the harsh vocals power through to its close. The track is beautiful and powerful. The instrumental Mother finishes the album well, even if the spoken words somewhat distract from the beauty of the track itself in the midsection.
Apologies, I Have None Black Everything4.0
Miss May I Rise of the Lion1.5
this band needs new vocals more than any band ever. Oh my, they are so bad. The worst part is the choruses
are catchy, but they're sung like absolute shit. Weird that the best songs on the album are all bonus tracks
too.
Whitechapel Our Endless War2.0
Anti-Mortem New Southern3.0
Adestria Gilded Hearts3.5
Consistently good; but unfortunately, inconsistently excellent. Propheteering is an exceptional track and opener boasting a catchy chorus and great guitar work. In Debt to Death is a straight badass track with an outstanding chorus and Shared Scars closes out the album well. The first half of the album is rounded out by some pretty good songs including the two singles, but tracks 6-9 are quite bland, and bring the album down from what it should be. The band surprisingly doesn't utilize clean vocals this time around as much as expected, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as they're not always good (Dangerous Waters), but overall, the band could've used a bit more stepping outside their comfort zone. Still, a great album.
Reformers Abolish3.5
Unapologetic and heavy with good clean vocals - pretty great and refreshing debut though it could use a bit more variety
Insomnium Shadows of the Dying Sun4.0
Light the Torch The Beauty of Destruction(Devil You Know3.0
Her Name In Blood Her Name In Blood3.0
Album's filled with some pretty kickass riffage. Brought down a bit by some really crappy songs and a need to be Br00tal at times but it has its moments to be sure. If I Melt Away is a great song.
More Than Life What's Left of Me3.5
A Feast For Kings Hell On Earth4.0
This is EP really pushes Metalcore pretty good. The band blends different elements remarkably in a very progressive style. Brittle Spirit is probably the highlight but React/Regret is exceptional as well.
Emmure Eternal Enemies1.0
Breathe Carolina Savages1.5
Album blows but I kinda like Sellouts. Couple catchy tunes, but mostly pure trash.
How the West Was Won Wild and Waste3.5
Check out Transmissions - one of the best songs of 2014 so far.
Jamie's Elsewhere Rebel - Revive3.5
A surprisingly great album - In Depth Perception is a hell of a song. There's some catchy choruses as well (Sleepless Nights, Rebel Revive, Sick Fiction) and some cool background strings and opera type stuff every now and again. The screams are occasionally surprisingly powerful as well.
The Used Imaginary Enemy1.5
How far this band has fallen since Artwork, which in my opinion is one of the most underrated grower albums ever. This album just really really blows. Very soft and uninspired and overly polished in a bad way. Only track really worth checking out is the Revolution.
HerEcho Standing Tall3.5
Despite unpolished (not very good) vocals, HerEcho seem to possess a knack for writing catchy and aggressive metalcore. Look forward to hearing what they can come up with for future endeavors.
Chevelle La Gárgola4.5
This album is an absolute monster. A warm welcome to a heavier, better Chevelle.
Memphis May Fire Unconditional2.5
album is honestly surprisingly diverse after the singles. given how forgettable MMF is, not sure if this will stay good, but i enjoyed 1st listen.
Taking Back Sunday Happiness Is3.0
Demon Hunter Extremist3.5
Assassins War of Aggression3.5
instrumentation is decent and there's actually some great choruses if you can get past the poor production (imo) on the clean vocals. New Reality, Another Chapter, A Hidden Demon, and the Blind Leading the Blind are very good. Most of the other tracks are just okay, but many have great moments.
Architects Lost Forever // Lost Together4.5
So dope. 1st half of the album is very good; the 2nd half is unreal.

Top tracks: The Distant Blue, Youth Is Wasted on the Young, Colony Collapse, Castles in
the Air, Dead Man Talking, Gravedigger
Buried in Verona Faceless4.0
Album came out of nowhere to drop me on my ass. It kills.

Check out Catatonic, Antidote, and Blind Eyes.
Bury The Fallen We Are The Wolves3.5
Earth Crisis Salvation of Innocents3.5
The Overseer Rest and Let Go3.5
Lots of atmosphere. Band takes a step back from their more post-hardcore/ metalcore tendencies and focuses a lot more on ambience. It works out well. Depraved, Give Light to My Eyes, Fragile Wings, and Scarlet Wool are great tracks.
Comeback Kid Die Knowing4.5
Hits so fucking hard at times. Die Knowing, Lower the Line, Somewhere in this Miserable crush.
Ready Set Fall! Memento3.0
Issues Issues1.0
Bayside Cult3.5
Bayside does bayside. Some pretty awesome, catchy riffage and solid vocals and lyricism. Highlight is Stuttering.
I Killed the Prom Queen Beloved3.5
Abandon All Ships Malocchio1.5
For Today Fight the Silence2.0
Behemoth The Satanist3.5
Wish it wasn't satanic, but as for the music itself, it definitely slays. O Father O Satan O Sun is easily the best track. Epic.
Killing the Messenger What Matters Most4.0
Honestly, some of the best metalcore I've heard in a long time. Heard these guys when they first released Three Hundreth. Since then, they've added solid cleans and improved a lot. This EP crushes.

Best track is Rising Tide. Other highlights are What Matters Most and Find My Way.
Within Temptation Hydra4.0
Miles ahead of their previous release. While there's a few slip ups along the way (Xzibit's misplaced feature on And We Run), Hydra is one of the band's strongest, if not the strongest, WT release.
Periphery Clear3.0
Of Mice and Men Restoring Force3.0
Previews honestly sound dope. Very much anticipating this.
You Me At Six Cavalier Youth3.0
Caliban Ghost Empire4.5
Gonna be a contender for metalcore album of the year. Wolves and Rats and Good Man are unreal good.
Nine Lashes From Water to War3.5
A pop-infused hard rock album filled with electronics and generic lyrics, but somehow it still works incredibly effectively. While many songs will disappoint old fans, thanks to a few highlights (Lights We Burn, You Are The Light) and immensely catchy melodies, the album manages to be memorable. Unfortunately, the album is heavily dragged down by the likes of soft, emotionless tracks like Break the World and Surrender.
Lionheart Welcome to the West Coast4.0
Manners Pale Blue Light4.5
The lyrics are fucking insane and together with the music, this album is unreal captivating. Boiling Point, Rent, The Sun Won't Rise, Living Will... holy shit.
To The Wind Block Out The Sun and Sleep4.5
Album fucking crushes - Vacant Home and Hands of the Clock are especially sick.

2013
Still Remains Ceasing to Breathe4.0
Great metalcore release. Heavy and melodic with a bunch of catchy choruses. Favors the style of Of Love and Lunacy far more than the The Serpent. Standout tracks include Bare Your Teeth, Beacon, Cain, and Hopeless.
Honour Crest Spilled Ink2.5
Kinda sounds like a worse version of City in the Sea. Has some cool moments, but mostly average. In Irons is a
pretty cool intro track, and Undertow is a very good track.
My Epic Behold3.0
Everything in Slow Motion Phoenix4.0
Gets boring at times, but has a strong finish and even stronger beginning. Definitely one of the best albums of the year so far. Highlights are Get Out, Speak, Poison, The Fool, and Proxima.
Five Finger Death Punch The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 21.5
The Acacia Strain Above/Below1.0
Our Last Night Oak Island4.5
My favorite release of the year so far. Our Last Night finally fulfills their potential as a hardcore band that sticks primarily to clean vocals - guitar is melodic and aggressive, lyrics are meaningful and hopeful, vocals are catchy and memorable. For individual tracks, check out Dark Storms, Reality Without You, Sunrise, Oak Island, but whole EP is excellent.
Myka Relocate Lies to Light the Way1.5
Deserters Try to Feel4.0
Clocking in at just under twenty minutes, Deserters' new EP packs in enough emotion to fill a full album. Want, The Feeling, and The Pawn prove that this band should be receiving a lot more recognition in the future.
I See Stars New Demons4.0
Miles above anything else they've released. Despite an extremely dull mid-section, tracks 2-5 and 9-12 are rfar beyond their prior material. The final track, "Who am I?" is especially enthralling and is the best track rthey've ever produced. Highlights are Who Am I, Murder Mitten, When I Say Jump You Say How High, and rFollow Your Leader. Album is brought down by Judith Rules and We're not in Kansas Anymore though.
Breakdown of Sanity Perception4.0
Breakdown of Sanity know how to do it big on the guitar front, no doubt. This album demonstrates that. They even can create interesting atmosphere as well, and enough instrumental variation to provide kickass, exciting music. Unfortunately, they need that kind of variation in the vocal department. Its not that the vocalist is bad; he's not. Its just that the low OOOOOOOOO growl can get boring if used to the extent that it is. Though the band does utilize clean vocals EXTREMELY occasionally, which is very refreshing, they're not nearly as prominent as they should be, and the monotony of the harsh vocals, which stay in mid-range for the majority of the album except for the lows for a bunch of breakdowns, is what brings the rating down to a 4. Yes, still a 4. Cause they do it that big.
Trivium Vengeance Falls4.0
1. Album sounds a lot like Disturbed. 2. Its bosser than Disturbed, which makes it pretty dope in my opinion. rrFinally a decently heavy band deciding to do clean vocals, but keep their previous instrumentals. Fuck ATR's ralbum, but this time it works for me. rAlbum is simple, but has sick riffage and catchy choruses. Rarely rabandons a melody. rMost sputnikers won't like it. But this album kicks ass. rGotta bump Nate's comment though I disagree, haha.
Icon For Hire Icon for Hire4.0
Basically hated this album on first listen... extremely poppy and girlish at times. But its super catchy and innovative, and after a few listens, it became awesome. Its refreshing when bands try new things; this is an excellent example of that.
Soulfly Savages1.5
Alter Bridge Fortress3.0
Korn The Paradigm Shift3.5
Definitely their best effort in a while. Still not excellent, but its got some good tracks. Prey For Me and It's All Wrong are the top tracks. The latter has easily the best guitar on the album. Fails to top Love and Death though.
Righteous Vendetta Lawless3.5
Although the album may be labeled generic, Righteous Vendetta varies from other metalcore bands in favoring clean vocals far over harsh vocals. The album undoubtedly has boring tracks; yet, it ultimately is a promising debut LP with strong tracks like Defiance, This Pain, and Losing Control.
A Day To Remember Common Courtesy4.0
I've never really gotten into anything this band has done; this album is extremely well-done though. Blends pop-punk and metalcore extremely well. "Sometimes you're the head, sometimes you're the nail" "dead and buried" "best of me" "violence" "life @ 11" "End of Me" are all incredible.
The Browning Hypernova3.5
Well, fuck me. Wasn't expecting it, but this album crushes. Synth-work is impeccable.
Scar the Martyr Scar the Martyr3.0
Album's good, but lacking anything really memorable.
Touche Amore Is Survived By2.5
Eyes Set to Kill Masks3.5
The Devil Wears Prada 8:184.0
By far their best work to date. Phenomenal atmosphere and way rawer than their previous efforts. Clean vocals are vastly improved as showcased in standout track Care More. Other highlights are Gloom, Rumors, War, and Sailor's Prayer.
dangerkids collapse4.0
Excellent debut. That being said, I'm hopeful this band has more to offer. With some varied structure and some improved guitar, this band could make Hybrid Theory 2 but this album wasn't it. Good guitar doesn't really show up until the last song and its a brief appearance. And just a heads up, with two short instrumental tracks, there's only ten real songs, and only four new songs if you've heard the tracks previously released. Highlights are Countdown, Light Escapes, We're All In Danger, Paper Thin, and Cut Me Out.
The Persevering Promise An Illusion In Shambles4.0
If you're looking for catchy melodic metalcore with an intermix of screams and non-whiny clean vocals, of
which the cleans take the majority, and heavy dope riffs, look no further. This caught me out of nowhere.
Degradead The Monster Within3.0
Fit for an Autopsy Hellbound4.0
Nine Inch Nails Hesitation Marks2.0
Avenged Sevenfold Hail to the King3.5
Avenged Sevenfold shows some creativity in trying to recapture the feel of old school metal and sometimes manages to succeed. Although the attempt sometimes comes off cheesy, the album is largely enjoyable. Despite the fact that its simplicity causes it to be underwhelming at times, Hail to the King has enough strong tracks to make it more than a worthwhile listen.
Born of Osiris Tomorrow We Die Alive1.5
Blessthefall Hollow Bodies3.5
City in the Sea Below the Noise4.0
With some additional atmosphere and varied structure, this album would be one of the best metalcore releases of the year.
Asking Alexandria From Death to Destiny4.0
Tech N9ne Something Else4.0
Five Finger Death Punch The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 14.0
shit leaked mother fuckers. check it out. probably gonna be bombrListened fully through twice. Its bomb. If they altered their verse chorus verse chorus solo chorus formula rmore often, it might be a 4.5. Each time they do, its very refreshing. Top tracks are Watch You Bleed, Wrong rSide of Heaven, Anywhere but Here, M.I.N.E, and Dot Your Eyes. Way better than the subpar American rCapitalist and is easily the best material they've done. Very excited for vol. 2.

Hands Like Houses Unimagine3.5
Misery Signals Absent Light3.5
We Came As Romans Tracing Back Roots4.0
SECRETS Fragile Figures3.0
Beartooth Sick4.0
Pretty sick, raw ep. Shomo kills it. Only problem is a little too much chugging. Would like some killer riffs.
Sick Puppies Connect1.5
Defeater Letters Home3.5
Arcite The Escape Key4.0
My Heart to Fear Algorithm4.0
Pretty great album. Suffers in my opinion slightly from the tuning of the guitar which produces a very similar sound in too much of the album, but thats really my biggest complaint. Very refreshing brand of metalcore, but surprised they don't use cleans, which were very good, more often to their advantage. There were definitely more on the ep than on the album which was surprising.
Oh, Sleeper The Titan4.5
Oh, Sleeper does not fail to impress. Phenomenal ep. Has everything you could ask for. complexity. simplicity.
it goes soft. it goes hard. Naofumi Mitsuhashi is a banger of an opener - catchy and aggressive - doesn't fuk
around with cleans. The pitch travels along similar lines, but its worse. Death from Above has one of Oh,
Sleeper's catchiest choruses. Heavy Hands is just fuking dope. The Rise finishes hard and strong. Heavy Hands
is one of my contenders for songs of the year thus far (though its maybe too early to tell just how much I like
it)
Phinehas The Last Word Is Yours to Speak4.0
Phinehas kicks ass. Always. Do yourself a favor and get this album.
Skillet Rise1.5
August Burns Red Rescue & Restore4.0
Mind-blowing album. Awesome experimentation complemented by some sweet breakdowns and riffs. If just one or a few songs had some cleans that somehow fit, for me, it would be a 4.5. Missing the vocal variety that would've provided, but luckily the vocals are badass anyway. Echoes is dope.
Children of Bodom Halo of Blood2.5
I the Mighty Satori2.5
Motionless in White Infamous3.5
Candlelight Red Reclamation4.0
Sleeping With Sirens Feel2.0
Love and Death Between Here And Lost4.0
One of the best nu-metal albums in a long time. In a genre that rarely hits the mark, this album does. The only weakness is that Welch electronically alters his voice a little too frequently, but it is not a huge issue. For Today frontman Montgomery provides some badass screams on "I W8 4 U" as well. Other standouts are the chorus of the Abandoning, Meltdown, Fading Away, and Bruises. But most importantly, its an impressively consistent effort, almost to the point of it being a weakness. One or two more tracks like Bruises, which sounds very different from the rest of the album would make this even better, in addition to less preachy lyrics.
Dark Tranquillity Construct4.0
Epic album. I wish the vocalist could sing a little bit more/better, but the instrumentals are dope and I appreciate the occasional cleans for variety purposes.
TesseracT Altered State4.0
Thirty Seconds to Mars Love Lust Faith + Dreams1.5
Despite liking some of this band's material, this album sucks. A lot. Missing all angst of former albums in favor of poppy electronic bullshit, and conquistador has shitty production.
Palisades Outcasts3.5
About as good as a generic post-hardcore album with electronics can get
dEMOTIONAL State: In Denial3.0
Escape the Fate Ungrateful2.0
The Dillinger Escape Plan One of Us Is the Killer2.5
Altars Something More4.0
In integrating more clean and gang vocals, as well as improving upon their overall sound, Altars have expanded upon the potential they showed in their debut.
Storm The Sky Vigilance3.5
Volbeat Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies2.0
Stone Sour House of Gold and Bones - Part 23.5
The Conflagration, House of Gold and Bones, Red City, and Peckinpah are the highlights. Regardless of what you thought before about Stone Sour, check this out.
Drowning Pool Resilience4.0
An extremely consistent effort. The metal gets pretty much dropped in favor of a full hard rock sound.
Device Device3.0
Ophelia's Great Day Destined3.5
Even as part of a subgenre of metalcore that I'm not particularly a fan of, its easy to recognize that OGD are a bit ahead of their peers.
Killswitch Engage Disarm the Descent4.0
Bring Me the Horizon Sempiternal4.0
Stunning atmosphere and emotion and phenomenally consistent. The inclusion of keyboards, strings, and half-scream/yelled vocals bring this to a whole new level. With the exception of Anti-vist, great lyrical content as well. Tracks 3-7 are the highlights, with tracks 10-11 bringing the album to a close extremely well.
Amaranthe The Nexus3.5
Between a 3 and a 3.5. Round up for hotness. A bit disappointed though; not as many standouts as I was hoping for. Still good though. Mechanical Illusion, the Nexus, and Future on Hold were the highlights for me.
Senses Fail Renacer4.0
Conditions Full of War4.0
Haven't heard their old stuff, but for what this is, its very good. Not really into this kind of pop rock material, but its actually very well done. The harder songs, aka skeleton and walking separate ways (which are not really hard at all) are extremely good.
Bleed from Within Uprising3.5
@deadguy Those lyrics are fine in my opinion. Definitely get the blood pumping

Definitely has some very good tracks, and the whole album is executed very well; however, there isn't enough variety in the material to make it as good as it could be. Lots of good riffs, etc, and Colony, Our Divide, and Devotion are all standouts. I liked listening to the previews of all the tracks better than the album though because of the lack of variety. The two instrumentals are pretty refreshing though as well.
Hypocrisy End of Disclosure3.0
Vanna The Few and the Far Between3.0
Blends chaos and melody pretty well - short on great tracks though.
Tear Out The Heart Violence3.5
One of the most surprising albums of the year thus far. Thought it was going to be pretty shitty; it was actually very good. The style has certainly been done before, but rarely this well. Choruses are extremely well done.
Hope For The Dying Aletheia4.0
Definitely has some holy shit moments. Last 4 tracks own.
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Et Tu, Brute?3.0
Fit for a King Creation | Destruction4.0
I would love this band if they didn't chug so damn much. rThey still chug, but damn this a pretty damn sweet album. Cleans are absurdly improved from their last album, and there's actually some pretty good riffs sprinkled in. Screams are still sick.
Soilwork The Living Infinite4.0
A mostly exceptional metal offering that slightly suffers from a lengthy, repetitive runtime; yet, standout tracks like the two title tracks, Spectrum of Eternity, and Long Live the Misanthrope prevent boredom from ever ensuing.
Omnium Gatherum Beyond3.0
Caladan Brood Echoes Of Battle3.5
haha. Haven't heard this band, but band is named after a character from a series I'm reading and he's a
fuckin beast so I probably gotta check this out.

Yeah, its pretty boss.
Bullet for My Valentine Temper Temper3.0
Disappointing, but my expectations were very high despite the miserable singles. rThe singles were two of the worst songs on the album, but there's not many great tracks. There are very few soaring choruses, and the guitars don't live up to Your Betrayal, 4 Words, Your Fist..., etc. on any song. rTears Don't Fall (Part 2) is definitely good, and works a little bit of nostalgia, but it mostly just reminds you of when Bullet was great (a.k.a hand of blood, TDF)rDefinitely some tracks that I will jam to quite a bit like Truth Hurts, Livin Life, Dead to the World, TDF 2, but the rest of the tracks are not very intense or emotional, and suffer from terrible lyricism, the biggest culprits being Leech and Dirty Little Secret.rThis site is kind of a joke for rating it a 1.6, but its not great. rWay more hard rock than metalcore.
Red (USA) Release the Panic2.0
Damage is one of my favorite tracks they've done hands down. Howard Benson is a fucker for sure, and there definitely not enough strings, but they're still present at times. Glass House, As You Go, and If We Only are other decent tracks. As a whole, definitely disappointing.
Coheed and Cambria The Afterman: Descension3.5
Very good album. Unfortunately, after an extremely strong first five tracks, the 2nd half really loses pace.
Gravity;s Union is absurdly good.
Hatebreed The Divinity of Purpose3.5
pretty much as good as this type of album can get. If you like the style, you'll like it; if you don't, you won't. Honor Never Dies is pretty sweet.
Otep Hydra1.0
Album should be called "The Talking Like A Fucked Up Teenage Girl Album." Literally more than half this album is talking. It sucks. Hard. And I like a few songs by her too.
Trapt Reborn2.5
Phinehas The Bridge Between4.5
Thissssss is the most satisfying EP I've ever heard. Actually.
The Plot In You Could You Watch Your Children Burn3.0
Definitely better than most metalcore albums. There are certainly some poor songs on here, but there are also some good songs, and Troll is great. Lyrical content is somewhat repetitive, there's a very limited amount of catchy hooks, and too much chugging, but its still a good album. Right between a 3 and a 3.5
Mutiny Within Synchronicity4.0
Very sick. I really hope that these guys stick with it.
Black Veil Brides Wretched and Divine2.5
Really not that bad; there's some okay songs such as wretched and divine, but extremely bland and the transmission tracks are real cheesy and just kinda shitty.
Hollywood Undead Notes From the Underground3.5
Regardless of whether you like this style or not, one has to respect HU's ability to produce catchy songs with rsolid electronic instrumentation. They also remarkably blend rap and rock, which is usually a recipe for rdisaster (a.k.a American Tragedy), and this album is without a doubt their most mature effort yet, shitty rlyricism in a few party songs (pigskin, up in smoke) aside. And one has to admire hysterically simplistic lyrics rsuch as "supercalifragi--suck my dick," which is undeniably funny unless you take yourself way too seriously. rThey are without a doubt at their strongest producing rock songs - From the Ground, We Are, Lion, and rOutside are actually extremely good songs. If you wanna compare to Swan Songs, the only thing their debut rhas over this album is the party songs were undoubtedly catchier, but this album is far more mature. Highly rrecommended album, and it is hard to believe you wouldn't like this album at least a little bit unless you go rinto it intent on hating it. Outside is a phenomenal track.

2012
Capture Til Death2.0
Much better than everyone suggests. Still not great, but shows some potential if the band grows up and loses the auto tune and atrocious lyricism
blink-182 Dogs Eating Dogs4.0
It could use more Mark and a bit more of their old punk feel, but its still great.
Watch This Burn My Way Back4.0
Incredible debut. Looking for big things from these guys in the future.
Forevermore Sojourner3.5
Pretty fuckin' good for a young band. And mostly, the best part of it is that it seems like these guys have
more to offer. These guys have potential, for sure. A little variety and improved cleans (pretty good singer,
but there just weren't any really good choruses) would help though.
My Heart to Fear Lost Between Brilliance and Insanity4.0
Perhaps an excellent might be generous, but its extremely good for how under the radar these guys are. The cleans are catchy and well-placed, some very good guitar riffs, and some especially impressive piano and synth-worth intermixed. Where the ep falters is on production, drumming, and consistent guitar work - far too much chugging, but in a somehow soft fashion at times. Some very impressive sections on the ep, but a lot of mediocre stuff too. But I look forward to their future.
Asking Alexandria Under the Influence2.0
I don't know who thought it was a good idea to do covers of classics in the exact same way they were originally. Even Danny tries to imitate the singers completely; only, he can't do it very well. His voice seems to be going as well. Don't know why, but maybe drinking, smoking, drugs, etc. But it is. AA's own song Run Free isn't half bad, but the rest is just worse versions of great songs.
Amenra Mass V4.5
Captivating as fuck. The album closer is devastatingly epic.
Code Orange Love Is Love // Return To Dust3.0
Woe, Is Me Genesi[s]1.5
Crown the Empire The Fallout2.5
Issues Black Diamonds1.5
Affiance The Campaign4.0
Pretty dank. Some sick guitar riffs. Bohemian, You Will Be Replaced, Kings of Deceit, The Campaign.
All That Remains A War You Cannot Win1.5
Tried so hard to like this album, but couldn't. It also has just gotten worse over time. TFOI was incredible, Overcome was good, FWAM was incredible too, and now this is just so far below those. Its extremely disappointing. I'm totally for clean vocals too, just the guitar sucks comparatively, and the vocals are not catchy, not aggressive, and just weaker. Damn... Its fine, just not for ATR
The Sorrow Misery Escape4.0
I am extremely surprised by this album; their other albums have been decent, but this is well beyond what rthose albums are. It fucking crushes...
Underoath Anthology: 1999-20135.0
Twelve Foot Ninja Silent Machine2.5
Flyleaf New Horizons3.5
Kamelot Silverthorn4.0
Wow, album shows a truly astonishing melodic sensibility. Tommy kicks ass too.
Parkway Drive Atlas4.0
Would still love to see Parkway change it up and throw in some cleans every once and a while, but they pretty much hit on everything else. Some sick riffs on here. Great stuff.
Being as an Ocean Dear G-d3.5
Stone Sour House of Gold and Bones - Part 14.0
Really great album. Unfortunately, two of the album's best tracks were released prior to the album release which always brings down the excitement when actually listening to the full album cause its no surprise when these two great songs come on. That being said, Absolute Zero and Gone Sovereign are by no means the only great songs; A Rumor of Skin, Tired, and Ru486 are among other great songs; however, this album doesn't have quite as good standouts as I would hope for. These songs are great, but especially the ballads, just don't reach heights like Bother or Slipknot's Snuff. So the album is excellent, its just not outstanding. Hopefully Part 2 has some real standouts on it.
Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city4.0
Ill Nino Epidemia4.0
After a fairly poor effort in Dead New World, Ill Nino bounces back. Ill Nino is the hardest they've been in years rin Epidemia, as can be noticed by the title track. Plus, their choruses have never been catchier and their rinstrumentation has never been better, aside from the rare guitar sections as could be seen in I Am Loco that rare missing from this. Still, this album really is superb. Tracks like Eva, Time Won't Save You, and Forgive Me rFather... among others show Ill Nino at the top of their game.
In Fear and Faith In Fear and Faith 4.0
The Acacia Strain Death Is the Only Mortal1.5
Texas in July Texas in July3.5
Personally, in the past I've found their material to be fairly poor. This, however, is a solid album. It is somewhat repetitive, but in my opinion that's mostly the result of no clean vocals, which I'm sure some people are a fan of. If they added occasional cleans, it would definitely bring some variety to the album, but still, solid album.
Onward To Olympas Indicator3.5
Nonpoint Nonpoint3.5
Defiler Nematocera2.5
Papa Roach The Connection1.5
So weak. Softer than I expected, which was pretty soft. Lots of electronics on this album too. I guess if that's
your style, you might like it, but its not mine.

A few decent songs; won't let up, where did the angels go, silence is the enemy are catchy as hell. Problem is
that the rest are big time shiiit and whole album is poppy as shit. Last resort dominates these tracks.
Three Days Grace Transit of Venus3.5
Not a great band but this is actually pretty good. No standouts like "Animal I Have Become" but its a pretty solid album. Has a more old school rock feel to it, except add electronic elements if that makes sense. Respect their evolution though. Much much better than Life Starts Now
Muse The 2nd Law1.0
Watching a tortoise walk for forty minutes is better than this. This is wretched. Muse, are you serious? You used to have some decent songs.
AxeWound Vultures3.0
Its good. Not that similar to BFMV, more like Cancer Bats. Album is a little repetitive, but Cold is good, and Collide is pretty sick.
Annisokay The Lucid Dream[er]3.5
This or the Apocalypse Dead Years3.5
As I Lay Dying Awakened4.0
The hate for this album is very surprising; although, I'm sure the cleans threw some people off. That being rsaid, this album runs train. Catchy and aggressive with some dope ass riffs. Instrumentation and vocals are rboth sick. Competes with AOBU for their best album. rI'm upping this to a five. Just blasted it straight through again. If this shit don't pump you up before game rtime than you're a pussy. Just kidding. Kinda.
Sybreed God Is an Automaton2.5
The Amity Affliction Chasing Ghosts3.0
Great album. Pretty surprised they're not very popular. Pretty much like hardcore blink-182 with better lyrics. rrThe bonus track Too Legit To Quit, cover of Born To Die, is best song on the album. So if you haven't heard rthat song, check it out.rEdit: Apparently Too Legit To Quit is now called Born To Die btw.
Parabelle Your Starry Eyes Will Never Make Us Even2.5
Project 86 Wait for the Siren3.0
Our Last Night Age Of Ignorance3.5
I'm really pleasantly surprised at how well Our Last Night pulled off the transition to mostly clean vocals. Some really catchy material in here, and, some pretty good riffs here and there too. With that being said, there are too few hard songs on here -- Fate, Send Me To Hell -- and even those aren't hard enough. Throw in a few more hardcore elements and this would've been a phenomenal album. As it is, its still an incredibly enjoyable listen.
Birds in Row You, Me, and the Violence4.5
In This Moment Blood3.0
Would be a phenomenal album if every song wasn't sex-oriented in an annoying, dislikable, slutty fashion.
While She Sleeps This Is the Six4.5
Straight sensational. One of the most mature albums I've ever heard. These boys are savages.
A Bullet for Pretty Boy Symbiosis2.5
Really average album. The song Red Medic is really pretty good though. A few others are alright too.
Close To Home Momentum3.5

Really good cleans, some good techno, and some good riffs too, but still maintains a hard sound. Really good album although nothing's sensational.

Linkin Park Living Things2.5
Its pretty good, but that doesn't mean I'm happy with it. Just like everyone else, I'd like to hear some songs that actually have some passion behind them, a little angst. Some good instrumentation, not poppy techno shit. Its impressive that LP can make this sound decent, but it just isn't nearly as good as their former style. And screaming doesn't make a song hard if the instrumentation is still sissy - meaning Lies, greed..., victimized, lost in... Faint was hard, and it had some electro. How bout some of that shit?

This has gotta be the most frustrating album I've heard in a while. The band is pretty much doing everything I want: staying melodic while busting out a bunch of sick hard riffs; however, the cleans, although I love cleans in metal, are atrocious. Need a new clean singer so bad, so bad. Neff should keep his job as bassist and they should just get a clean vocalist.

Hysterical ratings distribution. This album is very catchy, but the lyrics are absolutely atrocious and Deuce can't rap. Only good song is America. This album has really grown on me; I realize its really damn good. Dickinson is truly an incredible vocalist; however, even though his lows are good, I'd like to see him use more mid-range screams instead. The lows take away from some of the emotion in my opinion. And his cleans are awesome. Hope next album is even better.

Lyrics suck, but the album's actually pretty good and well-rounded. Most of the tracks are pretty decent, but no stand-outs. There's a few catchy hooks but not as many as their first album (which had even worse lyrics than this one).

This album gets better every time I listen to it. Each track is solid at worst, phenomenal at best. Sensational riff work and some of the best vocals in metalcore. Its truly a shame this band broke up at its peak.

Its a lot to ask haha, but if they added heavy guitar riffs (not just heavy synth), got rid of auto tune (I'm pretty
sure they can sing live), and had their clean vocalist sing slightly more masculine (their screamer can do good
cleans too), they'd be fukn' sick. Screamer is a beast and the synths and vocals are extremely catchy.
