Weezer Everything Will Be Alright in the End | 4.5 |
Rivers finally did it. He made an album that can comfortably slot in below Blue and Pinkerton,
firmly above the rest of Weezer's post-golden era albums.
Especially notable is the final trilogy of songs, The Futurescope Trilogy, where Rivers finally
lets loose the shred he's been bottling up since his prog metal days in the late 80s. |
Rain City Drive Through Art We Are All Equals | 4.0 |
This sure is a Jonny Craig project. In the vein of the last Emarosa album for sure. |
Say Anything Hebrews | 4.5 |
The Menzingers Rented World | 4.0 |
Foxy Shazam Gonzo | 4.5 |
Well, shit. A month later and every single song from this is relentlessly stuck in my head. My first impression was pretty tepid too, but this is probably the biggest grower I've heard in quite some time. |
Rick Ross Mastermind | 4.0 |
Starts off a little slow, but finishes strong. Production is immaculate throughout, unlike the uneven God Forgives... |
Analog Rebellion Ill'e Grande | 4.5 |
Against Me! Transgender Dysphoria Blues | 5.0 |
Bands tend to make their best music when they've got something to prove. For all too many bands this is their first album, trying to cement themselves as important among the hordes of other bands. Rare for an established band, Against Me! have two tries at the plate here, with them being off their major label and Laura going public with the gender dysphoria she faced for years. And damnit, they step up to the plate and deliver their best album yet. The fire and venom in tracks like Drinking With the Jocks and Black Me Out is undeniable. These are the songs she's kept pent up for years, only offering glimmers in earlier songs like The Ocean. Years of rage, confusion, fear, pain, and hope put to disk, and one of the most important albums to release in years. |

Lil B 05 Fuck Em | 5.0 |
wow so far this is one of lil b's most consistent mixtapes and there's still like 80 tracks left |
Front Porch Step Aware | 1.5 |
Seriously this is a very bad album full of shitty misogynistic lyrics, dude's a piece of shit, album's a piece of shit, fuck Tumblr |
Waking The Cadaver Real-Life Death | 3.0 |
Honestly, seriously, this is actually not an awful album. Miles ahead of their first one, and a good progression from Beyond Cops, Beyond God. |
The Swellers The Light Under Closed Doors | 4.5 |
The best Weezer album to come out in seventeen years. |
I See Stars New Demons | 3.0 |
Panic! at the Disco Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! | 3.5 |

Hey we used to be pretty unique but now we want to sound just like Memphis May Fire because dear lord do those guys make a lot of money |
Dream Theater Dream Theater | 4.0 |
2 Chainz B.O.A.T.S. II #METIME | 4.0 |
not sure if I understand the lukewarm response to this compared to boats 1, this is a much more solid project and one of the best mainstream rap albums to come out in a while. SAYIN WHO? LIKE A WHITE OWL |
Nine Inch Nails Hesitation Marks | 4.5 |
Haken The Mountain | 4.5 |
Dowsing I Don't Even Care Anymore | 4.0 |
Misery Signals Absent Light | 4.5 |
Wale The Gifted | 3.0 |
Queensryche Queensryche | 4.0 |
I usually don't buy albums that aren't fives, and even then, money is tighter than usual for me right now. However, providing the ultimate F.U. to Geoff Tate was worth every penny of 12 dollars. |
Falling in Reverse Fashionably Late | 2.0 |
This is actually a somewhat admirable mash-up of every Hot Topic trend in the past five years. Looking for keyboard-driven neon pop-punk? Brostep? Fistfuls of breakdowns, almost always introduced by a hilarious pit call? Misplaced instrumental shred sections? Hollywood Undead-esque rap sections? Boy band-esque pop songs? It's all in here. Put all that shit together and you have something almost truly next level. |
Kanye West Yeezus | 4.5 |

The Maine Forever Halloween | 3.5 |
Strange Vacation Thunderstorms | 4.5 |
Queensryche Frequency Unknown (Tate's Queensryche) | 1.0 |
Fall Out Boy Save Rock and Roll | 4.0 |
This is a fantastic pop album, and I could see moving my rating up in a few months once it's
sunk in. The songs are catchier than herpes, and Patrick is on fucking fire through the
whole thing. I can see someone who actually took the title "Save Rock and Roll" from a band
that that's named a song "Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part to Save The Scene
and Stop Going To Shows)" being disappointed, but they're probably pretty fucking stupid to
actually expect a pop band to "save rock and roll". |
