I get a lot of grief for diggin this band, but I actually like the insanely high pitched screams and I think their is certainly a good amount of decent guitar work and the drummer has some talent worth noting. |

Sadly, I really believe this is exactly where the band peaked. With wonderful instrumentals and a strong lead guitarist, I think this band was heading towards good potential, but after losing their awesome drummer and caving into the demands of scene kids asking for more watered down metal, this band lost it's edge. |

Much like the title, the entire album is much like a 99cent romance novel. It's kinda fun to listen to once, but after you know the plot and read all the juicy bits, you're ready to just stack it on your self and let it gather dust... or simply throw it away. It leaves no great impression and is easily forgotten. |

Possibly the only truly great album this band has put out. It always seemed like Bodom was desperately working their way up to SOMETHING spectacular, but always falling short of that mark. Then, their stuff got terribly repetitive and lacked ALL sense of creativity. While this is far from metal perfection, I think it embodies all the band could possibly amount to. |
Chiodos Illuminaudio | 4.0 |
I think the band made a wise change when they replaced their old lead singer. He may have had talent, but the change has obviously forced the band to step it up a notch. Where laziness was reigning, creativity and experimentation are moving on in... It'll be interesting to see their next moves. |

This album has some good moments, but it's a step down from their last album. It seems to lack depth and moves into an almost post-rock kind of territory, where simplicity is replaced with bland, empty tracks and platitudes. I was hoping for greater progressive epics, but I was deeply dissatisfied. |
Coheed and Cambria No World for Tomorrow | 4.5 |
This album is very reticent of Pink Floyd. Many of the songs have lengthy, progressive solos that sound ethereal and contain a lot of depth. It was an impressive direction for the band in my opinion. |

Before Johnny came in and took over the whole damn band, Emarosa was definitely heading in a pretty solid direction. With tracks like Epoch Coda, they showed they new how a progressive track COULD be constructed. It's a shame they didn't continue on in the vein. |
Emarosa Relativity | 4.0 |
When Johnny first stepped into the band, he was raw talent without much of that prideful bravado. It seemed like he had found a good niche in Emarosa, and a lot of the tracks on this album are actually pretty damn solid, but it's sadly the best they'll ever be. |

This is by far one of the absolute best albums the band has put out. I think they really embodied the heart and soul of melodic death metal in a good chunk of this album. The original lead guitarist featured on here definitely proved his glaring talent. |

Some of the tracks on here, like Cowbell's, have an almost progressive metalcore feel. The vocals are strong, but don't overpower the definitely strength in guitar work and drum work. Their later albums, unfortunately, don't carry through with that same "badass" creativity and experimentation. |

I know that this is totally classified as a crazy guilty pleasure, but for some reason I really love this album. The vocals are pretty unique, if not a little odd, but what really shines out is the talent of the lead guitarist and bassist. These guys jam hard and aren't afraid to really grow and push themselves. I hope to see even better work, compositionally, from them in the future. |
