This is probably the only album from the 70's or anytime round the era, that EVERY track stood out as being different from the one that was on before it, and the one coming next. Brad Delp's vocals soar like an eagle in every song, & Tom Sholz pulls off some amazing guitar solos throughout, which combined make this album being very enjoyable. More Than A Feeling, Foreplay/Long Time, Piece Of Mind & Smokin' are all classics in their own right. The best album of the 70's, without any doubt, & one of the greatest albums ever recorded in the history of music.

Daft Punk Homework2.0
Comparing this to Discovery is like comparing sunshine & rain. One of them shines with brilliance & is bright, the other is dark, horrible & miserable. I would compare Homework to the latter of these. Although it may be the album that blew House music out to everyone, I have to admit I found Discovery more entertaining & certainly more musically diverse, Homework is extremely repetitive all over & runs way longer than it should. I'm glad this came first, so that I can see where Daft Punk realized their weak points & strengthen them for what Discovery would become
Daft Punk Human After All1.0
How could this have happened to Daft Punk... they make a magical album like Discovery & they put out this piece of crap 4 years later. I don't know what I hate more about this album... the annoying repetition or Technologic having no true sense of musical ability in it whatsoever. Homework was in some weird way tolerable (noting it's 2 rating that I gave it) this album is however for me, unlistenable. You are talented musicians Daft Punk. I advise make another Discovery like album that has the same epic quality of music & I will be satisfied

Finger Eleven Finger Eleven2.5
This album is quite bland, it lacks a punch, and most of the songs (minus the singing) sound quite the same. One Thing & Good Times sound different from the other songs, main reason why they were singles. This was a purchase I was anticipating, but was very disappointed by, I expected better from Finger Eleven, but at least the future from them (by the looks of their latest album, which I like more than this) is bright.

Who knew that Y2J could sing like he does? Not many, which is one of the things that stunned me when listening to this album is that his voice is great for the music Fozzy play, guitar driven & drum crazy Rock music. This album is pretty solid with some great songs like their main single Enemy & Nameless Faceless, along with Wanderlust & title track make this album a great rocking disc to hear, however the collabaration with Bonecrusher made the rating for this album plummeted down for me, if that song never existed this would be rated higher

Godsmack Good Times...Bad Times4.0
Ah Godsmack, the band that got me into metal, has it really been 10 years already? One thing is for certain this compilation gave me the chance to hear some of the stuff by you I hadn't heard before. This compilation didn't disappoint, there isn't a bad song on here, the cover of Good Times... Bad Times is good & I finally manage to have Touche, I love that song to pieces. The only things that prevent this album from getting higher is the notable absence of Bad Magick, I dunno why every single minus this one was included... & also the fact that I thought that this could've had some more songs on it (I know there already is 16 songs on here but I knew that you could've put some other songs on this as well). Overall a very good compilation album

All I can say at this moment is wow, Mastodon really outdid themselves on this. They showed their true raw & emotional power as musicians in this 50-minute opus. The music & production is flawless & perfect, for the first time in a long time have I failed to find a fault with an album in anyway, that just shows the significance of it. If the word "Epic" was made for one album, this one would be a contender to hold that title, because this album is epic, no question

Muse Absolution3.0
Muse are overrated, everyone knows it, & it's true. Absolution, is Muse's OK Computer. Both albums are alike, featuring some rock tracks, some soft tracks & some experimental ones, the album has a few highlights to it, Time If Running Out, Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome & Butterflies & Hurricanes, however all the songs sound way to similar for my own liking, they get to much praise for doing stuff that Radiohead practically did between 1995-1997 (on this & Origin Of Symmetry, comparing that to The Bends particularly). This album is Ok, but nothing more

Nickelback All the Right Reasons2.5
For Nickelback, this is a solid album, because they really have managed to keep the album from being a bore-fest. That is mainly because they have some really good guitar driven rock songs like Follow You Home & Side Of A Bullet on here, however why they NEVER release them is what baffles me about this band, they only release songs that appeal to the mainstream perception of what a "rock band" would release, which is emotionally driven ballads, which is what this band have become a staple for bringing to the masses, & they actually are kinda good (Photograph particularly), unlike some of the others they've done. Rock Star is the only I hate with passion here, due to it being the stupidest song ever wrote, it makes an embarrassment of the band & states why everyone hates them. However I have to admit, they actually made a decent album, which for this band IS a step forward in the right direction
Nightwish Dark Passion Play3.0
I prefer this album over anything that Nightwish have done that I've heard, the reason is Annette Olsen's vocals. Tarja made Nightwish sound more classical & over the top, while Annette is a vocalist that makes this band more suited to my liking of music. Although I do like the musicianship of the other members when Tarja was around in Nightwish, they purely own on this album. Would The Poet And The Pendulum sound as great as it is with Tarja singing it? I don't think so
Nightwish Once1.0
Meh, boring as hell, same sound & it put me to sleep
Nine Inch Nails With Teeth2.5
Nine Inch Nails Year Zero1.0
I have listened to this album a few times now, & there is only 2 words to sum this album up... IT SUCKS
Survivalism was the reason I got it, however I was heavily disappointed by what the rest of the album had to offer... there was no real sense of ability or any form of good music in most of the songs
NIN are overrated, pure & simple. If they can make only a few good tracks PER ALBUM that actually are worth listening to, they don't deserve the praise they get
Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral3.5
I don't like Nine Inch Nails much, I have listened to their stuff & I've been disappointed & thought they were overrated. That statement has now been blown out of the water thanks to my purchasing of The Downward Spiral... this album is so emotional & it's just a pure work of genius, everything else has already been said. I remember saying to myself that I would NEVER love a Nine Inch Nails album... I now have to eat those words.

Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall, Some Might Say, Morning Glory, Champagne Supernova & Roll With It are all gems. Cast A Shadow, Hello, She's Electric & Hey Now are all great. This album is what true Rock 'N' Roll sounds like, & you know it.

What a letdown... I expected so much from this as I've enjoyed a lot of P.O.D's stuff over the years. However my fear has been confirmed... they officially can only release an album with about 4 or 5 good songs on it & the rest is bull... I thought another Satellite (as that was pretty decent) was coming, but I was sadly mistaken The title track, Addicted, Shine On Me & It Can't Rain Everyday are the best songs on here... & Kaliforn-Eye-A is a disaster. Only buy the album for the 4 good songs I mentioned, the rest is unbearable to hear. Get yourself together P.O.D. & start making listenable music again

I get more impressed with this album the more I hear it. The dark sound, the freaky instruments, and the spooky lyrics... it all fits so well together. However, the problem I have with this album is that only 2 tracks manage to hold their own on this album, which are Fear Of A Blank Planet & Ansthetize, the latter of which is my fav track on this album, mostly due to Alex Lifeson of Rush doing a solo on it which adds to the epic nature of the song. I'm liking this album more than I used to but I wished the rest of the album lived up to the tracks I mentioned

Although I like Les, Tim & Larry's musicianship, Southbound Pachyderm & Wynona's Big Brown Beaver, this album severely lacks in other areas. This album just shows for me what R.E.M were in the mid to late 80s, they were fun yet serious rockers who produced good music, & for the first time in the 21st Century they have produced something brilliant. Some songs are rock songs like Man Sized Wreath & Supernatural Superserious, and some are spellbinding melodic calmers like Until The Day Is Done & Sing For The Submarine. I say congrats to R.E.M for making a First Class Album again

One thing that defines Up for me, is that R.E.M. were experimenting with new styles, some songs such as Lotus, Walk Unafraid, Daysleeper & At My Most Beautiful are among my favourite R.E.M. songs, & in my opinion among R.E.M.'s best. However, they are also the high points as the rest is good but not overly as good as the songs I mentioned. This album isn't as bad as everyone says it is, the good thing is that it is better than Monster & Around The Sun, & we all know that IS a good thing

For me, Radiohead reached their peak with their first successful album, The Bends. I prefer this to OK Computer due
to it has a harder "rock" sound to it. After OK Computer, they went downhill, but after songs like Just, My Iron Lung,
Street Spirit & Fake Plastic Trees from this album & Paranoid Android from OK Computer who could blame them.
They will NEVER reach this close to perfect music again, & I wish they still had this hard rock sound & Jonny
Greenwood's guitar solos rather than something weird like they had with every album since Kid A because it's just
BETTER!
Radiohead The Best Of3.5
Radiohead Kid A2.0
To be honest... the praise this gets doesn't make sense... I've listened to this album a few times now... & it just doesn't click with me. It's depressing, dreary & downright strange. Sure Radiohead are a good band but like I said in my Bends soundoff this album began their downfall for me, & I can say that I was right about that

The ultimate Progressive Rock album, no more words needed to describe it. The 20 & a half minute epic title track is amazing & sets the tone of the album to set itself in. The rest of the album may not live up to it's Epic title, but they do pack a punch. Geddy Lee's Vocals & Bass, Alex Lifeson's Guitarwork & Neil Peart's Drumming are all at their best on this album. Rush are legends & this album is among the legends

When some modern hard rock is unbelievably repetitive & similar, Shinedown managed to pull themselves away from the pack by bringing out this in 2005. Every song is different from the others, and every member of the band plays to the best of their ability, particularly Brent Smiths vocals & Jasin Todd's guitarwork (which has greatly improved from Leave A Whisper). This is a great Hard Rock album, if you're a fan of the genre, don't hesitate in picking this up

Upon immediately putting this into my CD player, I noticed that the sound & lyrical content was quite dark, just
showing me what Sonic Youth was like before their popularity took off. The one thing I've always liked about this
band is that EVERY song sounds different from the others, this album has that notion perfectly solidified as it's
songs create a different atmosphere for the listening experience. Shadow For A Doubt is in my view Kim Gorden's
darkest moment on any SY album due to her singing style & lyrics on the song, which is kinda haunting. A great
album by a great band & worth picking up

The Mayfield Four Fallout5.0
While their second album, Second Skin, is faster, heavier & harder. The Mayfield Four's debut album has a very calm melodic & bluesy feel too it. You can hear the raw power & emotion flow off every song. Myles Kennedy's vocals are at their best here, he manages to hold a very long note & keep going higher in 12/31, but it isn't as epic as Summergirl from Second Skin. The cover of Marvin Gaye's classic Inner City Blues is truly amazing, Myles sounds EXACTLY like Gaye, all the highs & lows of the vocal spectrum in there. Not to mention the musical structure being exactly alike as well. If you want some rock that can relax you but also amaze you, this is for you
The Mayfield Four Second Skin5.0
This album, if you could ever find one, is the perfect Hard Rock album. I've never heard a better album by anyone, all of these songs vary in speed & musical structure, which makes it a really enjoyable listen. The lyrics are mind blowing, not to mention how jaw droppingly amazing Myles Kennedy's vocals are... the stuff he does on this album blows apart any of his Alter Bridge vocals, you'll only be able to find that out if you hear it. He manages to push his range out to lengths I've never heard any vocalist do... which is another reason why he's my favourite vocalist ever. This album & this band were very underrated & largely ignored by music in general, it's one of the most amazing hidden gems you can find in the genre of Hard Rock. If you ever see this album, buy it or you'll miss out on the talent & greatness this band held

The Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness5.0
This was for Smashing Pumpkins what The Wall was for Pink Floyd. It showed off the true musical dynamics of the band by showing off almost every known thing they could do with their musical minds. It features a wide spectrum of music, Alternative Rock, Hard Rock, Progressive Rock & Electronica, and SP manage to pull it off perfectly. This double album is an epic journey when listened to in one sitting, it also contains some of their biggest songs (1979, Bullet With Butterfly Wings, Tonight Tonight & Zero to name a few). The magic this album holds is breathtaking, a true masterpiece
The Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream5.0
The Smashing Pumpkins Zeitgeist4.5
I hate people who neg this album for either "Not being original SP" or "The songs suck for no good reason". The thing is, this album kicks some ass, there are many highlights to this album which can be looked upon greatly, as Tarantula, That's The Way (My Love Is), Bring The Light, (Come On) Lets Go, Neverlost & Doomsday Clock would fit well into SP's existing & very large song discography. Some songs however for me, prevent this album from being perfect, United States & Pomp & Circumstance being the unlucky two. This is mainly due to US's length which for some considerable part of an almost 10 minute song has just instruments. Pomp & Circumstance is simply a bad song, & I know SP don't make many mistakes on their albums. Overall, a grand return for SP, that made the 7 years of anguish worth the wait
The Smashing Pumpkins Machina/The Machines of God4.0
The Smashing Pumpkins Adore5.0
If SP's musical & lyrical magnum opus was searched for, it wouldn't be MCIS or SD, but Adore. This album contains some of the best lyrics Billy's ever written, it may be musically toned down compared to MCIS & SD but it makes the album more emotionally powerful which gels with the lyrics perfectly. Songs like Perfect, Behold! The Nightmare, Appels + Oranjes & For Martha are for me the best songs on the album because they manage to speak to me in way few other SP songs can. People hate Adore because "It's not like Smashing Pumpkins", this album to me is SP at their peak, SD was the start of their rise, MCIS was the the booster that made it keep going, & Adore proved the musicianship & lyrical writing prowess that this band possessed. However... I feel that SP are never gonna write & make another album this grand again... but I'm still hoping for it...

Three Days Grace One-X4.5
One thing I love lots about this album is the immense amount of emotion & power that comes out of it. This band is very good lyrically, many of the songs here are very well written despite the fact that some of the songs are about the same things. Musically they're basic but they definitely know how to fit their sound around the lyrics & Adam Gontier's great voice. This is a brilliant album in a time where many mainstream rock bands are simply making albums that don't seem to care about the music they make.
Three Days Grace Three Days Grace3.0
Their debut album is nothing compared to One-X. This album has it's moments, but unlike One-X, this album gets boring after about 6 songs. If you are considering getting this album, I advise make sure you hear One-X before it, otherwise it could leave your ears aching at times
