| My first true Death Metal love. When I first heard Phobophile, I was in shock. Never before had I heard a more genius intro. The transition from haunting piano to quiet bass to full Death Metal assault blew me away. I loved it. Although when I first listened to it, as with many Death Metal albums to me, I was struck by how similar some of the songs were, but at least it's brilliant repetition. It never, ever gets boring. Ultra fast and ultra brutal equals the best Death Metal record I've heard. |

| I was introduced to this album through my older brother. When it comes to musical tastes and knowledge, he is my idol so I always take a close listen to whatever he brings home. There was no exception with this. What I heard was ethereal and what I considered ghostly. I can imagine some people finding this album hard to understand as I find it to be quite unique, not least because of his more than unique voice. Tragic and beautiful, rolled into a big wonderful ball. I consider this to be one of those albums that everyone has to hear, regardless of taste. |

| 10 years on, this album is still as classic as it ever was. there's not much that I can say, that hasn't been said before. While this isn't a concept album, there is still that persistent mood of resignation and depression throughout. Maybe that's one of the reasons why this album is so enjoyable, even if that does sound contradictory. Thom Yorke's voice can do pretty much anything, and he shows it on this album more, I think, than any other Radiohead album. Climbing Up The Walls still creeps the hell out of me, Let Down still moves me to tears for some inexplicable reason just for Lucky to bring my smile back. All this after 10 years. |

| I struggle to find the right words when talking about this. Whenever I listen to this I always find myself in awe, not just at the length which by itself makes the song remarkable, but just at the way everything works so well together. There's almost too many layers to count on this song, and they're all played and timed to perfection by all the responsible musicians. The symphonic elements perfectly complement the metallic elements and there is a great balance between speedy passages and balladesque passages. Despite it's length, it's very hard to find any type of flaw in this song. |

| The difficulty I found in finding this album was far too great. It is a crying shame that some people will go through their lives without hearing a single song off of this, or even hearing the name, X Japan. This is another of those records that I deem neccesary for everyone to hear, and it's not hard to see why the first time the intro to the song 'Blue Blood' kicks in. In fact, writing this has made me want to listen to it again. Hopefully this record stays with me for a considerable amount of time. |
