5 classic
Dream Theater Awake
Jethro Tull Thick as a Brick
Jethro Tull Aqualung
Easily one of my favorite Tull albums. Ian Anderson's flute and acoustic guitar, Martin Barre's guitar licks and I forget their names due to frequent lineup changes in the band but the bass, piano and drums are fantastic too. Any band who invents (or if they didn't, made it popular) such a wonderful, brilliant sound deserves a 5/5. This was overproduced in its time but sounds underproduced compared to today's standards. I really love that nice medium between the two.
Lost Horizon A Flame To The Ground Beneath
Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon

4.5 superb
Angra Temple of Shadows
Blind Guardian Nightfall in Middle-Earth
Blind Guardian A Night at the Opera
Blind Guardian A Twist in the Myth
Dark Moor Autumnal
Dark Moor have always put out quality music and have always had their own unique style in a seemingly faceless and generic genre. But with Autumnal they've reached a new level with powerful, beautiful, and nearly seamless symphonic metal compositions.
Dragonland Astronomy
Dream Theater Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory
Edguy Hellfire Club
Impeccable songwriting and delivery. Tobias Sammet's rich, powerful vocals and inspiring lyrics send chills down my spine . This album bombards the listener with song after song of heavy metal hellfire.
Elvenking Heathenreel
Elvenking The Winter Wake
Equilibrium Sagas
Fairyland The Fall Of An Empire
Fairies? Why they must be homosexuals, right? Maybe! But French Symphonic power metal band Fairyland have created a masterpiece in their respective genre with The Fall Of An Empire. This album has everything a fan of bands like Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, Freedom Call, Heavenly, etc love with an original style and fabulous execution.

Amon Tobin Bricolage

Amorphis Elegy
Avantasia The Scarecrow
Axenstar Far from heaven
This album is fantastic if you are a fan of pop metal. Yes, pop metal. Far From Heaven is full of catchy songs that stick in your head and have memorable hooks while still staying power metal. Axenstar manage to avoid tediousness by having endless original riffs and melodies and keep things fresh throughout the album with creative composition and good lyrics.
I recommend this album to fans of Sonata Arctica who don't require relentless shredding.

Generally power metal geeks aren't going to like this album, because it's not geeky power metal. However it is a fantastic, inspired, and well-written piece of rock music.

Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin II
I really do think that this album was made before Zeppelin had really found themselves as a band. It's nothing more than some fairly catchy rip-offs of old blues songs. I like their cover of Heartbreaker but when they put that crappy solo in the middle, it hurts the song. Every Zeppelin album after this one (exept Presence) is much better than II in my opinion. I really don't see what people love about this album other than The Lemon Song. That being said, I still think it's a good album. Just not compared to the rest of their career.

I found this pretty boring to be honest. I may be stabbed and gutted by metalheads with swords but sometimes good musicianship just doesn't cut it. Everything sounds cold and sterile. Vocals are boring and lyrics are pitiful. There are some pretty nice slow, melodic parts but they lack any feeling. Structure on all songs is lacking innovation. Pass.
