It was really annoying for a while, and i thought about for way longer than i probably should've had. That feeling was "have i heard this before? i think i have...". Only a few days ago, it finally hit me, and i realized what was going on: I hadn't heard this before, i had heard it's influences. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ How funny is that? I was so musically uneducated when i discovered this album, and yet i could still see it's power in music, i just didn't know. Really, where would the rock world be without RoC? Maybe another album would've replaced it, but it still wouldn't be the same. It's a shame that Omar(and apperantly the rest of the band too) considers this to be too poppy and plastic. I hope, that someday they realize what they managed to do, regardless. This album is a classic, in every sense of the word.blink-182 blink-182Some day, once stupid fucks stop attacking everything because of it being mainstream and actually look into a band rather than base themselves completely off of singles, this will undoutably be considered the greatest Pop-punk album of all time. When i first heard it last year, it was like nothing else i had heard. It was weird, it was creepy, it was interesting... And it was awesome. So much so, i started becoming almost addicted to it, and for a while i searched for the popular opinion about it. I'm not sure why but i did. It mattered that much to me. One way or another, i got here, and my music habits have not been the same since. Listening to it more recently, it is no longer as unique as it used to be... But it is no less awesome. The Mars Volta Frances the Mute4.5 superbAlice in Chains DirtBad Religion SufferBurial KindredConverge You Fail MeConverge All We Love We Leave BehindOk I think it's safe to change the rating now. 4.5 but goddamn this motherfucker might get to a 5 again after a while. Ascend! With Post-Rock becoming more of a joke than an actual genre, one couldn't help wonder what would the largely geralded kings of the genre had to say about this. I mean come on, 10 years? Any other band would completely and utterly fail to return correctly after so long. GY!BE, however, have come here to prove that they're not "any other band". Be it their stronger-than-ever Crecendos, their dizzing beats, or their absolutely unmatched ability to pace an album, this album is another GY!BE success.Letlive. Fake HistoryRadiohead The BendsRadiohead Hail to the ThiefRadiohead In RainbowsRage Against the Machine Rage Against the MachineSwans The SeerGira referred to this as the "culmination" of everything he has ever done in his entire career. While i unfortunately have not heard anything else from them, I don't think those words are big, considering the utter size of this album. 'The Seer' is a beast, not in a "so good is beast" kinda way, i mean literally. It's 2 hours long, and there are moments were the wondering beats and ambient noises will go absolutely nowhere, challenging your ears. And yet, your ears will accept it, because it's subtle changes and often dazzling semi-harmonies wrap your ears somewhere that just won't let you go, if you are willing to embrace them. This is one of the best albums of the year, and if you have the pacience, then check it out at all cost.4.0 excellentBrand New Deja EntenduKiller Mike R.A.P.
