"The Demon's Name Is Surveillance" may be my favorite single song since Stengah. Really digging everything about this album. They improved a great deal after this one. Mastodon The HunterDecent album, but nowhere near their last few. A little inconsistent (Curl of the Burl is horrid, The Creature Lives is good for two novelty listens) but there's still some great stuff here. A few too many clean, radio-friendly choruses for my taste though, which has me worried for the future. Still, a great variety here, just not as heavy or cohesive as past work.Megadeth Countdown to ExtinctionMeshuggah obZenOmar Rodriguez-Lopez Se Dice Bisonte, No BúfaloOpeth OrchidRivers Cuomo Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers CuomoRivers Cuomo Alone II: The Home Recordings of Rivers CuomoRivers Cuomo Alone III: The Pinkerton YearsThe Dead Weather HorehoundThe Dead Weather Sea of CowardsThe Mars Volta TremulantThe Mars Volta The Bedlam in GoliathThe Mars Volta OctahedronThe Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quartet Sepulcros De MielThe Raconteurs Broken Boy SoldiersThe White Stripes The White StripesThe White Stripes Get Behind Me SatanThe White Stripes De StijlThe White Stripes Icky ThumpThem Crooked Vultures Them Crooked VulturesWormrot DirgeWormrot Noise3.0 goodJet Shaka RockMastodon Live at the AragonGood material hurt by some poor live vocals. Some tracks create a nice atmosphere, and some do absolutely nothing other than bore for what seems like forever. 1.5 very poorThe Mars Volta NoctourniquetI don't get this album at all, and I'm a huge TMV fan. They take from the Taylor Swift playbook with "Empty Vessels", which is their worst song to date, and there's no really great moments. Lots of repetition within songs and irritatingly boring synths make this a hard listen. Lapochka blows too. Weezer Raditude1.0 awfulOmar Rodriguez-Lopez Despair
