A great release by an unknown band. Very atmospheric and great song writing. Mix Cynic up with BTBAM and the result would be NAMI.

This album has thought me to not judge a person on a singular work. Who would have thought that Andy Marshall, the mastermind behind the abomination of Falloch, would eventually release this beauty? I most certainly hadn't, and I'm certainly not the only one.

...Of Sinking Ships The Amaranthine Sea
Agalloch The Serpent and the Sphere
An amalgation of Agalloch's earlier, more acoustic work (Pale Folklore) and their latest work (marrow). TS&TS is an album that tries to please both older fans, as well as newer ones. The result is an album that fails to create its own identity in the bands extensive discography. Yet despite all it does wrong, it does two things right.

Griefloss Ruiner
Black-metal tinged, Shoegaze metal. Delicately woven together by ambient landscapes. An astounding emotionally vocal delivery (Both the primal shrieks and the John Haughm-inspired clean vocals), great use of melancholy and overall atmosphere. Going to review the shit out of this gem.
Grown Below The Long Now
Saw this band perform live and bought the album on a whim. They sadly only played songs from their new record (which they start recording next monday). Luckily, all of those song are at least twice as good as this album .

I Am Heresy Thy Will
A great mixture of the diversity and chaos found in albums by metalcore vets Converge and
the more melodic sections of modern metalcore acts like Bury Tomorrow, couple that with the
mighty vocals from BoySetsFire's voclaist and you might start to think you found a modern
classic album. Well come and think again, as the production brings down everything the album
has going for it, leaving this album as a wolf without claws and teeth, a decent album that
could have been really fantastic.
