Jimmy Eat World Futures
Out of such an incredible and consistent discography, why is Futures my absolute favourite Jimmy Eat World album? While each record they've released (well, not necessarily their really obscure, early stuff) is filled from beginning to end with brilliant, catchy songs with amazing lyricism, this album is still the most overall enjoyable and impacting album of the bunch. It's a perfect mix of catchy, high energy rock anthems and beautiful, slower songs. Jimmy Eat World evoke feeling through their music and lyrics in a way that no other band can, and it is here where they are doing this best, especially when it comes to the incredible album closer, 23. Simply amazing.

Supercar HIGHVISION
The best indie/electronica album ever that is better than Kid A. Beautifully soothing music that you can chill out to, yet through genius instrumentation and the incorporation of electronic elements, it remains upbeat enough to be catchy. Experience this album.
The Chariot Long Live
This is not only my favourite album of 2010, but probably my favourite to be released in a good four years. It's not an emotional masterpiece; The Chariot are still basically just making crazy mathcore songs for us to jam to. They've just never done it this ridiculously well.

This gets a lot of hate for being different from their first two albums, but they traded in their old style in order to make this their best album yet, and I'd say that's a fair trade.

Mae The Everglow
This entire album is what love would sound like in musical form. It is when everything fits into place and life is beautiful. It is when you go outside and the trees look beautiful, and there is a god and he loves you. This album is about that feeling. A specific feeling that cannot be brought on by any other album. The feeling is called the Everglow. Just let go and fall into it.

This album gets such a high rating because it acts so well as a raw expression of anger. While this may not be the most healthy of emotions, it still makes this album an emotional one, and I don't think it's in any way trying to be a 'healthy' record anyway. Not only that, but it's catchy as heck. It's a real shame they got so terrible.

This is where it's at in regards to the seasons EPs. They don't overdo the instrumentals, the instrumental tracks that are here are really nice and not at all boring, and it really does give you a feeling for the freshness and beauty of the morning.

If each of these EPs are meant to represent their respective time of day, Mae's afternoons must be really boring.
Muse The Resistance
Some songs here are kind of catchy, but all that really does for the album is make it more frustrating as it does, overall, totally suck. Uprising and Resistance are - though extremely disappointing for Muse - mildly entertaining. Undisclosed Desires is a kind of cool example of Muse trying something new and a little poppy. United States of Eurasia and Guiding Light suck. Unnatural Selection starts off pretty freakin' sweet and but is very quick to go sour. MK Ultra is a good song in comparison to the rest. I Belong to You starts off and ends fairly well, but sucks so bad for two and a half minutes in the middle that it really just ends up being one of the most annoying song here. And to finish things off, the Exogenesis trilogy are the worst songs of all. It's like they were trying all too hard to be epic and just ended up creating incredibly boring music. The sad thing is, this band have shown that they can create amazing art with albums like Origin of Symmetry and Black Holes and Revelations. At the end of the day, this album only ends up being frustrating and depressing, and I wouldn't even recommend it to a fan of the band. In summary; what the fuck, Muse.
Slipknot Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)
Taking Back Sunday Tell All Your Friends
I hate this album. Why? Because it frustrates me. Because I've been trying to get into it for so long, with all the praise it gets. Other Taking Back Sunday fans treat it like it's Jane Doe or something, but I just don't get it. God knows I've tried; listen, after listen, after listen, and to this day the only songs I find at all entertaining are Cute without the 'E' and Timberwolves at New Jersey. Other than that, as far as I'm concerned it's about as boring as music gets.
The Republic of Wolves Varuna
This was a pretty big disappointment. It's weird; the reviews I've seen for this give it high praises, yet I've yet to hear any fans of His Old Branches that I know tell me they like it. Only a couple of songs stand out, but even they aren't anything amazing and the album seems to mostly just be a boring mishmash of samey sounding songs. It's too bad, as I was pretty stoked for this, but the Wolves are going to have to step up their game and start making more music that sounds fresh, like HOB was when it came out, instead of boring us all by continually releasing stuff like this.

Underoath The Changing of Times

Simple Plan Still Not Getting Any...
You might notice that I seem like a fairly generous rater on this site, and that most of my ratings are 4.0 or above. That's really because I like to listen to music that I like and most music from my younger days at least has some nostalgic value to give it a boost. Maybe that should help out Simple Plan a little bit, after all this is the first record I bought when I was 12 and I even waited in a huge queue to get it signed by all the band members. Unfortunately, even nostalgia can't help this album; it's just that bad of a rock record. You really have to listen to it yourself to understand. But yeah, don't.
Slipknot All Hope Is Gone
Album title says it all. Check out the title track if you want to know just how bad music can get.
