| While Bibio's first few albums stuck pretty much within the same comfort zone, the leaps taken between those albums, Ambivalance Avenue and Mind Bokeh made it difficult to suggest to someone a good starting point if they were trying to get into his music. While this album isn't as huge a stylistic jump, "Silver Wilkinson" is still the next logical progression in his career, since it's a perfect distillation of everything that came before, and it's also the album I would tell someone to listen to if they wanted to get to know what Bibio is all about. Great stuff. |

| Not so sure why everyone's getting so down on the idea of a compilation disc. Elliott Smith is my favorite musician ever, and this compilation is actually pretty solid. It isn't called "greatest hits" or "the definitive collection"...it's called "An Introduction". And with those intentions for the buyer, it does a great job. Nice mix, some unexpected songs (glad to see Happiness make the cut). If it's enough to get someone interested in checking out more of his brilliant discography, it's serves its purpose. And I think it will. |

| I'd probably give this a 4.2. It's essentially a sequel to "Wolfgang", and like most sequels it's not as good as the original. Luckily this is more "Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade" than it is "Jaws: The Revenge". Which is to say, while it isn't as good at "Wolfgang", it's still a worthy follow-up. |
