It takes a really long time to get used to the changes, and then once I do, it's all about whatever phase it's in now. All other Gorillaz is ruined for me until this phase is over, more than likely. Doesn't help that it's a great summer album.Gorillaz Demon DaysGorillaz GorillazThe Menzingers Chamberlain Waits4.0 excellentKid Cudi Man on the Moon: The End of DayPavement Quarantine the PastRamones Road to RuinThe National High Violet3.5 greatAFI All Hallow's E.P.Against Me! White CrossesGreat album. This band had a marked influence on me back in the Eternal Cowboy days, and to this day are still my favorite band to see live, and I definitely dig this album. Their music seems to grow with me, becoming more and more pop sensible as my sweet tooth begins to prevail more and more when it comes to musical taste. So, what many of their fans see as a bad thing I see as a very good thing. "White Crosses," "I Was a Teenage Anarchist," "Suffocation," and "Bamboo Bones" are really great songs. Hell, this album even shares my disenchantment with anarchists. I may believe in many of the same ideals still, whether Gabel does or not is up for debate, but many of my friends from that scene have betrayed me because of superficialities and my desire to actually do well in a capitalist society, so I don't have to starve for my beliefs.
In any case, it's evident a lot of work went into writing this album. Keep up the good work, fellas!Gorillaz D-SidesThe Gaslight Anthem American SlangThe Tallest Man on Earth Shallow Grave3.0 goodBroken Bells Broken BellsGorillaz G-SidesJapandroids No SinglesIt may not be-- and in fact it wasn't intended to be-- a solid release, or a true follow-up to "Post-Nothing," but it's very cool to listen to Japandroids doing their best to carve their own sound in an over-saturated music industry where indie bands have forgotten to try and sound original at all anymore. MGMT CongratulationsGrew on me... still not as pop gold as Oracular Spectacular, but I have to give it to them for going with art over fame.
