Eric Stuart Band Bombshellshocked
Nothing can hold these guys back!
This album contains everything I’ve come to expect from the Eric Stuart Band (ESB); namely, Eric’s irresistible voice, ingenious lyrics, catchy tunes, and a good mix of songs. “Sad Day For Love” displays Eric’s unique way of writing genuinely about heartache and frustration, while maintaining a fast tempo and good beat. Songs that are markedly different from other ESB albums include “The Remedy,” which invites the listener to stand up and face their troubles—“stare in the face of the beast within; I’ll help you rise above your own misfortune.” “A Bad Seed To Sow” is about preventing racism by being a good example for young people to follow. “A Boy In Love With You” is different from other ESB songs in that it uses piano, violin, viola, and cello instead of the usual guitars and drums. As the title implies, “BombShellShocked” lets us know that ESB can still give us that unsurpassed quality above the rest, and still reach beyond your highest expectations to keep the experience fresh and new every time!
Eric Stuart Band Blue, Dressed In Black
Compared with other available ESB albums, “Blue, Dressed In Black” showcases a wider range of musical styles and makes for a wonderful sampling of what the band is capable of achieving. Songs like “Staring You In The Face” and “Raise A Little Hell Tonight” rock out so much that if a normal person tried to sing their heart out like that, they would turn blue and pass out in less than a minute. “Lost Innocence” contains lyrics so clever and multi-faceted that you could spend a lifetime trying to analyze it. “Corner Booth Chronicles” won the John Lennon Songwriting Award--like many ESB songs, it is about heartache, but Eric sings in such a Neil Diamond-like, “Song Sung Blue” way that it becomes therapeutic. Each song in this album is priceless! Sing out your blues, captivate your imagination, and lose yourself in this treasure chest of superb ESB songs!
Eric Stuart Band In the County of Kings
Eric Stuart shows just how magnificent a song can be!
It takes tireless dedication, maniacal perfectionism, and God-given talent to make music like this. ESB spoiled me for life from the very first track—there is no going back to hearing music as usual now that I know that music like this is possible! Eric has the most wonderful voice I have ever heard. It can easily take on a full range of emotions, from charming boyish innocence to deep maddening anguish; yet it is always so rich and direly attractive (he sounds as sultry as he looks) that it steals your heart every time. His genius extends to the orchestration of sounds—seamlessly blending together voice and instrumentation into one unforgettable story-telling dreamscape. However, the unique trademark that makes ESB stand out above the rest is undoubtedly the lyrics. This is where Eric Stuart enters the realm of the impossible! The first time you listen to an ESB song, the lyrics sound beautiful, genuine, and natural—but closer listening thereafter reveals an intricate web of carefully chosen words. Somehow he manages to stack multiple shades of meaning and plays on words on top of each other. This complexity of seemingly effortlessly-knit rhetorical devices is like nothing I have ever heard before, and I notice something new every time. All the stuff that legends are made of is merely the icing on the cake! This guy is a song-writing madman with the alluring voice of a cunning devil! He is destined for greatness, and deserves to be a legend in his own time!
