5.0 classic
Stevie Ray Vaughan Texas Flood
The utter feeling in the guitar work of SRV is amazing. This album is the only one you need to know that. Classic Vaughan.

4.5 superb
Alice in Chains Facelift
Amorphis Elegy
Amorphis' crowning achievement. The perfect blend of Finnish death metal and folk. Pasi Kosinken really lights up this album and Tomi Kouvissaris' gutteral vocals really contribute to the feel of the album. The subltle use of keyboards and other non traditional instrumentation add a nice touch of ambiance without overpowering, unlike some of thier later albums. The album is finished off with a mellow, acoustic, version of My Kantele.
Amorphis Tales From the Thousand Lakes
Amorphis' sophomore effort is easily one of the best metal albums of the '90s. Tomi's clean vocals sound stressed and out of place, but not detracting from the album. The album never seems to get old. The more you listen, the more you like it!
Faith No More Angel Dust
Iron Maiden Powerslave
Iron Maiden, the kings of the NWOBHM show what they are really made of. From Aces High to the 14 minute Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. This album never fails to deliver.

4.0 excellent
Alice in Chains Dirt
Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged
All That Remains The Fall of Ideals
This is an immaculate album, full of blast beats and melodies. Oli Herberts contributions to ATR on this album are evident. Jumping genres from song to song gives the album a slightly chaotic feel, but somehow holds together. From classic death metal to metalcore, this album satisfies.

This album is quite possibly the most well rounded metal album I have heard in years. With the emergence of this-core and that-core it is great to hear an album so strife with modern styling and that classic twinge. Straight up metal.

Dethklok The Dethalbum
A cartoon. I never thought I would seriously rate a cartoon spin off album. The generic death metal of the Dethklok Death album is seriously tight. It's not too much of a wonder, being held together by the metronomic drumming of Gene "Atomic Clock" Hoglan (ex Death, Strapping Young Lad) and, suprisingly, the guitarwork of Brendon Small. Smalls generic growl do little to detract from the overall tightness of the album. My song pick... 'Thunderhorse'.
