| When listening to singular songs, it is easy to be in awe at the amazing musicality and production qualities behind this record. What Sufjan failed to notice, however, is that his album is too samey and boring to let me, or many people actually listen to the album all the way through. |

| The Kicks Kicks |
In the wake of Weezer's failure that was Make Believe, there needs to be another band to fill those shoes. Along comes The Kicks. They sound quite like Weezer (mainly because of the singer), but add enough to their music to keep from looking like a cheap rip off.
This music is not meant to be taken too seriously. Hell, no powerpop is. Possibly the best music to just drive to that I can imagine. The musicianship is solid and it works for the genre, but the lack of any real solos or too much variation between songs slightly brings down an otherwise great album. Recommended for any fan of the Blue/Green Album Weezer, or anybody into fun alterna-rock. |
