AFI Sing the Sorrow |
Ahhhh.... AFI. A band most of my friends hate. Maybe it's because they think Davey sounds like he's wearing a testicle clamp. Or maybe they think that AFI is wrist-cutty music. Those friends are wrong. While the lyrics maybe melancholy, they are beautiful at the same time. The muscianship definitely kicks arse. Both Leaving Songs are great, as well as Silver And Cold and ....But Home is Nowhere (which was a great choice for a closer). |
Children of Bodom Something Wild |
It dosen't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Alexi can shred on the guitar. Few think of him as a wanker (whom are people that need to be shot). "In The Shadows" was my first interaction with CoB, and it was a damn good one. Oh, and both parts of Red Light In My Eyes are brilliant. |
Circle Takes the Square As the Roots Undo |
"OMGZZ!!! THIS SOUNDS LIKE A BUNCH OF NOISES AND SCREAMS!!!" This was my first reaction to "Kill The Switch". This album definitely needs growing time. Once you get into it, you can't get out. The male-female vocals lashing back and forth work great, making it sound like a nice flow rather than a couple having an argument. Oh, and "Interview At The Ruins" is total pwnage. |
Deftones White Pony |
I loathed this album with a passion when I first heard it. This is an album that seriously took over a year to grow on me. Maybe because a year ago my favorite band was Godsmack.... yeah, exactly. Anywho, this album is the best the Tones will probably ever put out. This album shows a more mellow, Cure-induced side than the nu-metal-ish sound Deftones usually bring out. You love this album or you hate it. No in between. |
