David Maslanka Symphony No. 4
Spotify Surf - average waves, here. It's produced well but creatively could stand out more. There were a few moments were I looked up and said, "ah - that's interesting!" but other wise this was sort of easy to tune out.
Metallica Ride the Lightning
Fun fact: I'd heard every single song on this on this album in parts and by themselves. Yup, every single one. But this is a record that is definitely best heard as an album - an act I have finally done. I don't think anything else Metallica has put out has been as relatable as this, even though the next couple of records after this are also critically acclaimed. Regardless of what has become of them now, they deserve props for this record. Every song on it is classic.
Giraffage Needs
Found as a result of a Spotify Surf. It's a baby wave because when it wasn't forgettable it was annoying.
Nina Simone Wild is the Wind
A lot of amazing vocal work here. Some really memorable songs.
Can Tago Mago
Well, there's no doubt this album is really well-crafted. But because of subjective elements, I don't think I can ever give it a 5. Also took me a while to "get" and I gave it a lot of listens, and I wonder if it's got to do with the "mere-exposure" effect. Bonus points for uniqueness.
Air Moon Safari
There are some really compelling songs on here and they really, really work with one another. Beth Hirsch's vocals on a couple of tracks really add to them as well. But the catch is, for me, that there isn't much staying power afterwards. I'd call it good if I could remember upon 2nd or 3rd listen how the songs actually go . I'd still really recommend this.
Kate Bush Hounds of Love
I didn't like this right away, but that's the norm for me. I do think this is a perfect album. Some of the songs on here are some instant favorites of mine.

  • ArsMoriendi There's a way to do it on the review site, but it's not necessary since it doesn't really do anything.
