Brand New Daisy
Don't know what they were going for here, but in the end, after a few years have past, I now GET THIS. Yes, it's not 'Devil and God..(What is?) And it's not "Deja..", but then again why would we want something the same?? Like I stated above "Daisy" took years literally before I woke up and dug it. When I first bought it, I was taken aback by the, at the time anyway, lack of hooks and all the screaming. But after making myself drill it, it just clicked. It's good stuff. Not great but good. Thoughts?

Queens of the Stone Age ...Like Clockwork
First off, let me preface this by adding that I'm brand spanking new to this group and the reason I decided to sign up today was I felt the urge to chime in about "Like Clockwork". I was reading all these glowing reviews and to be honest, I got revved up. Everyone is giving Homme wayyy too much credit for this album. First and foremost, he has COMPLETELY abandoned the RIFFAGE that he had back in the KYUSS days and even up to Era Vulgaris(I dig all the Qotsa albums except this one and Lullabies to paralyze). If I wanted intellectual spacey Floyd esque type stuff, I'd go listen to said band. I'm also really perplexed as to why Josh abandoned al

The War On Drugs Lost in the Dream
Nothing much to say that hasn't already been said here there and everywhere, but I still wanted to chime in here. Hands down THE best saddest Record this year and just maybe this Decade! If it doesn't hit you instantly, do not give up, because when it does finally hit you you just might be a sad sappy mess. Stellar.

Gozu The Fury Of A Patient Man
Ok so you haven't heard GOZU yet. Wtf are you waiting for?!? Easily, my favorite pick from this past year for this style music. What style? The beauty of GOZU and this album 'Fury of a Patient Man', is that they do not stay in one place and get stale. This beast is all over the map. Vocals are a highlight, at times sounding like the Chris Cornell we all used to know and love. As for the musicians behind him, stellar in every way! I'm dead serious when I make this following statement: Not since KYUSS' "Welcome to Sky Valley" have I been this floored. Fave tracks are "Irish Dart Fight" & their pummeling cover of "Brown Sugar" originally recorde

Spoon They Want My Soul
Where do I start..well for one, the M83/Sdtk to Drive vibe really through me for a loop. But then came the melodies and the hooks and it was a wrap. This is, in my opinion their finest hour since "Kill the Moonlight". It's an entirely different beast though. Actually almost completely opposites sound/production wise. 'DO YOU' & 'Knock knock knock' are currently being played to death in my car. This is my first 'Sound Off' so try not to be too harsh on me.

  • SharkTooth Songs/Deaf is my personal fav QOTSA album, the problem with the s/t imo is that it felt like a watered down Kyuss, lacking the heaviness that made me love Sky Valley, but still quite solid on its own ground

  • pauliegeezee10 True. I actually was going to mention the S/T album but went with Sky Valley, because I guess, in the long run, I play my KYUSS records more than my Qotsa records. As for my preferred listening to Queens albums, "Like Clockwork" is at the second to last slot from the bottom of the heap. In order for me, it's 'Self Titled', 'Songs/Deaf' 'Rated R' 'The Covers ep' 'Era Vulgaris' 'Over River/woods Live', 'Like Clockwork' and lastly "Lullabies to paralyze', which, in my opinion, is a total bore.

  • SharkTooth on your qotsa soundoff: I agree that LC is not anything like Kyuss and such, but if you were expecting that kind of stuff, you should've started with their s/t or Songs For The Deaf
