being that a band that's been around as long as these guys just released their first album with a new singer, i figured someone would've reviewed this by now. especially because it's actually really good
One of their best albums to date, and I'm glad that their sound hasn't changed dramatically with the addition of Zoli. However, I do feel that his vocals weren't entirely up to scratch - they were a lot more impressive on the album "Our Darkest Days" by Ignite, and they seemed a little plain on this album, especially in comparison. But, Ignite is a different band completely, and this is Pennywise, and this is the Pennywise sound. Great album!
New singer, same old sound. It's very interesting and it's as if they have a whole new energy. I hope it lasts.
(edit: If you enjoy the new singer check out his band 'Ignite'... recommended album: Our Darkest Days.)
Not trying to be different or anything but before this Reason to Believe was the best Pennywise album i had heard (I also have About Time and Full Circle), the reason being that the melodies were so much better, there was something different and Jim's vocals sounded good and less droney/boring than on those 2 albums and the metal-ish element added something, however still the one reason (No pun intended) I wasn't so sure on Pennywise was the vocals! This album comes along and BOOM new singer, way better than the old singer, don't live in the past, Zoli is an amazing singer and thew new album is awesome! PUNK ROCK AND CATCHY AS HELL!
