On "Harmonicraft" the happy sludge metal band releases one of the most distinct sounding records I've heard in years. This album has a sound that is hard to describe, but it resembles exactly what the album cover portrays: a metal album that sounds like rainbows and unicorns. While I thought the sound was pretty interesting, I couldn't rate this album higher than I've given it mostly due to its short and dreadfully similar sounding tracks. The one thing that keeps this album from just being a mediocre album is the fantastic closer "Looking on". Its an extremely droned and simplistic track, but the vocals and closing riff on it make it one of my favorites off this album. I see a lot of potential with this group, but I still have a bit of a problem with their short tracks and inconsistency.
