One of very few Pop Albums I felt compulsed to buy. The mixture of Soul and Pop is quite well balanced - whilst the bubblegum Super Duper Love and Fell in Love With a Boy are good and up beat singles the album also contains some great Soulful no.s like Dirty Man and I Had a Dream. Stone has a great singing voice, husky deep and soulful, but also capable of hitting the top notes. This album also contains some good funky instrumentals.
Had the option of going the Britney Spears direction, but thankfully chose a more organic soul and R&B direction. Her voice can sound a bit samey after a while, but there is no doubting she is an amazing vocalist as Live 8 proved. However, there is only so much OTT soul wailing you can take before you want to throw yourself in front of a bus.
