The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2, popularly known as the Moonlight Sonata, is a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. Completed in 1801
and dedicated in 1802 to his pupil, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi, it is one of Beethoven's most popular compositions for the piano.
In 2012 the metalcore band Human Abstract attempted to do a rendition of the piece but failed miserably. This is shit.
Production was terrible. The music was a good but unexceptional interpretation of the piece.
This doesn't live up to the quality of their "real" releases, but is an interesting side
project that would do really well on a place like YouTube. Although the brilliant A.J.
Minette wasn't involved, the musicianship was of course still impeccable.
A great take on the classic Beethoven piece, the musicianship is top notch, yet the album suffers from terrible production in the heavy parts. It's a shame the band did not attempt to remedy this problem while making the single. Would be a 4-4.5 if the production was better. However, Movement 3 is still fantastic to listen to.
