Some bands try too hard to experiment with approaches and influences at the expense of good songwriting. I would like to see the band give the retro approach another go and focus on writing good songs as a whole instead of putting weight on being as versatile as possible. Nonetheless this is pretty good but as with many bands of similar treats could be much, much better.
This is some pretty amazing stuff and very, very unique for the black metal genre, if you could even call it that. Fans of prog and/or psychedelic music will dig the shit out of this. Even if you're someone who doesn't dig black metal at all, you'd still like this. It's like 85% prog/psychedelic and 15% black metal.
