The album starts strong but gets thrown off by the excessively soft love-related songs. Wale is way better when he raps his social commentary or when he's just spittin mad ignorant shit. 3 or 4 of the songs directed to females could have been done without. Those R&B features are pretty fucking irritating, man...
Wale deserves some credit for Ambition - its an outstanding album.rThe album has many moods and themes which is a great thing for an album to have so that it doesn't get too uniform. This is one of the few modern-day rap albums where I can listen to the whole damn thing - every single track. Every single track.rMy favourites:r"Double M Genious"r"Miami Nights"r"Chain Music"r"Ambition"r"That Way"r"Illest Bitch"r"DC or Nothing"
Totally agreeing with Adeem. The estrogen music is out of control on this album.rThere's
thoughtful -which is okay, and then there's soft -which is weak, and there's bitch-made for
bitches -which is annoying. More than half of this album is soft, bitchmade or teetering on
the edge of soft.rThose songs are extremely obvious. But when the songs are good, they're
fucking good. Legendary is damn good. Ambition is damn good, and Chain Music is off it's
fucking nut. Everything else is boring or bitch-made soft shit.rKind of average all
together. And pretty lacking on real substantial lyricism for the most part. But I didn't
really expect much to begin with, so yeah...
