Immense songs ruined by half-ass vocals and lyrics.

The awkward vocals are a problem, but not a huge one. They hold back what could've been a much better EP, but they aren't bad in themselves. The problem is that they're not worked in a way that makes them actually fit with the music--rather, they feel sort of just dropped on top without being mixed to fit the super dreamy atmosphere.

parkers chapel and sinking inside yourself are two of hammock's best songs ever, the other two
tracks are kinda ruined by the out-of-place vocals

Some slightly awkward guest vocal appearances, and with the presence of the instrumental versions on the Chasing After Shadows outtakes, it seems that the guests were brought in to do vocal tracks over the existing songs with no input into their creation. This probably explains the fact that the two don't quite gel. Nevertheless the two Hammock-only songs are quality and Parkers Chapel may be one of their greatest

The versions of the vocalised songs are much better as instrumentals on the Chasing The Shadows... Outtakes album fyi. The other two songs are really good

It's amazing how low quality Hammock is still quality music.
