From my experience, a few spins won't suffice. It needs a little more dedication before it can be appreciated. I guarantee all the 1-2 ratings will change if people actually made an effort to listen to this properly.
As always, amazing lyrics and melodic guitars coming together to create an extremely emotionally-laden, powerful album. The only reason I didn't rate this higher is I feel like some of the songs weren't as memorable as on past albums, and kind of blended together a bit.
This album is getting more shit than it deserves. It's definitely a grower, and while not as instantly memorable as the predecessor, it still shows a technical prowess shining through. I for one appreciate the drumming a lot more here, as the same double bass pattern is not reused every other song.
The more you play it, the more you like it. At least that's how it worked for me. There are some good melodic sections that really combine with the lyrics quite nicely that makes for a nice emotional sound. Improvement seems to be a trend for It Prevails, and hopefully will continue to be.
