catchy, frantic, precise, and emotional punk rock. I haven't heard anything that sounds quite like this before. Tragically, Balkans near perfect debut (their only album) will most likely remain completely undiscovered and overlooked.
Balkans have a very intriguing and unique sound. Some of the riffs are
incredibly catchy and production is clear but raw. The vocals aren't the very good but they
feel perfectly suited for this music. I can definitely hear some post punk, noise rock, and
old school punk rock influences. The songwriting is definitely a major focus for this band
which you can see in the disjointed song structures and massive amounts of accidental notes
or usage off odd keys. However, this gets a bit much sometimes, quite often reducing the
album's catchiness and lasting value. This album is (unfortunately) not an immediate one.
