people need to get over the old ep. rate the album for what is it, dont compare it to their old sound. if this was a completely different band, you'd probably enjoy it but because people are so hung up on their previous work, no one gives this a chance.

The more I listen to this the more I find, and the more I realize that this isn't as generic as some may think it is. A lot of thought was obviously put into this album and this album really is, amazing.

2011 is shaping up to be a good year for Post-Hardcore: Dance Gavin Dance, The Color Morale, Emery, and now Memphis May Fire.

There are some neat electronic parts that are enjoyable, mostly because I wasn't expecting them, though at times they tread very closely to Woe, Is Me. Still, this album is definitely a step up from "Between The Lies."

Memphis May Fire have proven with "The Hollow" that they are technically competent in their instrumentation, and Matty has proven he's a phenomenal vocalist, but with the dropping of their southern influence present in their previous efforts, the overall feel is bland and uninspired. The musicianship is impressive and the record as a whole is catchy, but there's nothing here that particularly strikes interest.

Great all around Metalcore album. This album is solid all the way through, and does not have one bad song.

Really quite a good record. Yeah MMF is just a post-hardcore/metalcore band, but unalike many other acts of their genre they have excellent songs, with very good musicianship and creativity. Along with that they have Matty Mullins who is a superb vocalist, with good screams, excellent cleans. And above all else, he excels in writing. This album, for more mainstream metalcore, is on par, and probably better than Of Mice and Men's The Flood. And people need to stop saying that MMF is a new Woe, Is Me, because for one they have been around much longer than WIM, and are all around a better, more experienced band.

MMF: finally a band that uses these synthcore breakdowns without sounding horrible....songs make lack diversity but it's made up for solid musicianship, catchy choruses, and solid song structures.

Memphis May Fire finally get loose of their southern experiments and go "scene" - but do good at it. a new Woe, Is Me is born, equipped with more ideas, enthusiasm and versatility. unfortunately a bit weaker produced than WIM's straightforward "Number(s)".

'The Hollow' is a continuation of the bands new sound which was introduced in their EP released a while back. Memphis May Fire's biggest asset is in their vocals, as they transition between the intense screaming and excellent clean vocals, everything just comes together right. Throw in some breakdowns and electronic background noises and you get a well made album that stands out in the genre.
