Bob Saget was never the same after the Olsen twins grew up

Apollo Kids is nothing spectacular, but there are some solid tracks and the rapping is consistently good, even if the beats are not.

pretty sure there are a lot of people rating this album highly that are fans of vintage wu beats, just sayin

Now i'm one of those people that believes Ghostface Killah never ever fell off as a rapper. However, i do believe his ear for beats fell off right after More Fish, and now this album sees Ghost trying to get producers to replicate his old beats, but they all sound like pale imitations. Also, a lot of the guests drain from the experience. However, Ghost's sense of story telling and lyricism still pulls these negatives out for the most part, but listening to Apollo Kids is a bit depressing for fans of vintage Wu beats.

Grimy, undulating groovy soul beats slink through this record whilst Ghost and crew flow and fly over them with force, grace, and angular swordplay. Ghost is on top of his game--lyirically and stylistically--and his Wu-Tang roots have not been this exposed, this raw, for quite some time. Terrific hip-hop album.
