Expected more, or rather different. It seems Twilight in Olympus marked a stylistic change for Symphony X where they went from concentrating more on quirky, technical neoclassical prog with heavy riffs, to more power metal choruses and mellow passages. This album?s a bit better, but it is also too long.

It's not as great as "Divine" is, but V is one of the best SX albums, with amazing songs like "Evolution", "Rediscovery part 2", "A fools paradise" "Egypt" and "Communion and the oracle"...

A highly enjoyable conecpt album by Symphony X. The guitar/keyboard interplay is fantastic and the songwriting and lyrics are also amazing. It's a nice blend of progressive and power metal and the album is simply one of the best in the genre with standout tracks such as the melodic "Evolution" and the progressive middle eastern trends of "Egypt".rTop 3 Tracks: "Evolution", "Egypt", "Rediscovery Pt 2"

This album, while it has 1 or 2 weak tracks on it, it is still one of my favorite concept albums. Essential for any power-prog fan.

Can this be categorized as Symphonic Power Metal? I have never heard a power metal album, or any album at that, with a more medieval feel to it. The band has a godly guitarist, and an incredible singer to boot. There is solid drumming everywhere as well. If that's not enough, picture perfect power metal with medieval sounding instruments, acoustic parts piano passages here too. It has everything good. Summary of this album: EPIC.
