Metalcore is a genre that most metalheads look to in shame. I know I have in certain occasions, as it seems awfully commercial at times and there are lots of bands that just bore me to death. But fear not! Unearth has come to save the genre. The band, while still using the qualities of the genre, has improved on the sound quite a bit by including some more advanced riffs, occasional shredding and overall better songwriting than before. This album is great for a broad range of fans, from the fans of hardcore all the way to the fans of maybe even death metal. If you were ever to pick up a metalcore album, make it this one.

While this album relies on breakdowns sometimes too much in parts, it was still an enjoyable listen. The first half of the album is better than the second half but both still worked fairly well.

This is the first Unearth album I have listened to, and for the longest time paid them no mind due to their name being so close to Underoath.
Definately not the same!
This album rocks. It has great vocals, a great opener with real passionate lyrics, and great guitar and drum playing.
I didn't notice a guitar solo until the 6th track, but what I did notice was before the first track was even over, I wanted to have everyone I know listen to this album.
It's heavy, you can understand the throaty-deep vocals, and it doesn't get boring. What more do I need?!

Besides a few songs on this cd, this album is a classic and I'm not afraid to say it. The songs all have a unique aspect to them and vocals are the only part to Unearth that seem to be nothing special. However, this release is definitely a must for any metalcore fan. The Oncoming Storm has decent lyrics, occasional solos, spectacular song dynamics and the ability to not sound generic. Many contend that metalcore is too formulaic, but this album definitely trys to debate that point by having unique breakdowns and songs typically without filler.

The Songs on this album are definatly not forgettable. Zombie Autopilot is amazing and so is Aries even though aries is a softer song. the whole album is great.

This album is awesome. I've listened to it over and over and it hasn't gotten old. Good breakdowns, drums and guitar work. Unearth does it right.

This album never lets up and never backs down. Unearth is obviously the best and makes real metal fans look back and only smile upon the album. Unearth only gives light to the genre and so far only keeps adding to the greatness. People who admire Unearth and the whole metal genre have no choice but to give this a rating of at least 4, otherwise don't know true beauty and music like this is.

An amazing metalcore album! every song is amazing, great guitar solos and a good beat! The best metalcore music ever, i could literally mosh to this all day. Every song is simply amazing. This band is very very talented. If you like screamo and thrash music this album is meant for you!
