hahahahahahahahaha. ahhhhhhhhhhh, I wonder if these guys take themselves seriously as musicians. Like..do you think they fall asleep at night saying to themselves "Wow, I put out masterworks of art. God I am gifted"

Good in small doses, wich is how Deathcore should be enjoyed IMO. I loathe 90% of deathcore in general, but when I feel the urge for deathcore, Oceano sums up the entire genre for me. Actually, the scene kids who are going to jizz over this, is just as sad as the "elitists" hating it. All in all, this band is one of my guilty pleasures along with Dimmu Borgir.

The review for this is very ignorant. There are a lot of differences between Depths and Contagion. But yeah, this album basically sucks.

Though not by much, Contagion does surpass Oceano's debut Depths. Seems like being "brutal" is all they focus on. The overuse of breakdowns just seems repetitive and honestly makes it unenjoyable at times. However, there are things such as "Exist In Confinement" which offers the diversity we've all been begging for since their first album. The vocals show improvement as well which is a plus. They are scheduled to release a new album in 2013, so if the Mayans aren't right hopefully we'll get to see if Oceano continues to improve.

I did not feel that this album was poor. Depths was still better. It just feels too much like music written by Whitechapel. And I would NOT call Oceano "decent deathcore", which is: After The Burial, All Shall perish, The Contortionist, etc.
