Though Aimard's version of Messiaen's personification of his Christianity is oft seen as the best of the several renditions produced, I beg to differ, sayin that Steven Osborne's is by far the most adept. His ability to play with a loose passion - the way he injects his rendition with life and energy while still respecting the architecture of Messiaen's piano pieces. The playing is resplendent and bold and is one of the finer classical pieces I've heard, if not the finest posthumous rendition of any classical work I've listened to.
