Odd Future, as a whole, are a mixed bag. On one hand you have Tyler, The Creator who is
easily the most talented of the collective, but coming up behind him are a motley crew of
kids that can have their moments from time to time, but as a whole fail to impress. With
Radical being a cross section of the OFWGKTA collective, it pulses up and down based
on the quality of said members and their collective performances. Sometimes it can be good,
sometimes it can be terrible. The beats don't offer anything to help bolster the duds
offered up by some of the collective's lesser members, as they are gratingly minimalistic,
playing into the DIY theme of the Wolf Gang. On the bright side the austere backing isn't
enough to hold back the few bright spots on Radical. There's potential to be found,
for sure, especially in Tyler, The Creator, Earl Sweatshirt and in the MellowHype project
led by Hodgy Beats, but as an album, Radical fails to live up to the hype.

A good introduction to the style and different members of OFWGKTA. Lacks consistency
altogether, but there are some really great tracks. Listen to Orange Juice and Blade, stay
away from Turnt Out.

I've been listening to this for about a week straight now and I've developed a pretty love-hate relationship with it. Basically any track involving Earl or Tyler is excellent and deserves a listen from any rap fan and Hodgy is beginning to grow on me. But I feel like aside from the few quality tracks, a lot of this feels pretty subpar to me.

Orange Juice, Drop, Alright and Splatter are good songs, but don't bother with the rest. There are some redeeming beats and some decent raps, but most of the time the collective get too obtuse and play for weirdness that it mostly falls flat.
